C-Teams for 2010
It would be great if all Sunday Division 2 sides had a C-Team next season to make home games triple headers.

I know I am a cheeky little devil but has anyone seen Mike Hunt in the car park?
Re: C-Teams for 2010
Southern Knights are looking to field a C-Team in 2010.
Just out of interest, how many other teams in Sunday Division 2 have C-Teams so that triple-header games might be a possibility this season ?
Salisbury Inter
Pt Pirie Savoy
Tea Tree Gully City
Modbury Vista
Elizabeth Grove - yes
Southern Knights - yes
Para Hills East
ISC Raptors
Macedonia
Bosna

Re: C-Teams for 2010
Unfortunately not every club is able to do so due to lack of players or resources. I think 8 out of the 10 clubs in div 1 sat will have c teams. Hopefully the SAASL are on the way to locking in 16 triple headers for the season. Remember, this is politics, make the majority happy and you will be loved Which club committe would not want all their teams to stay together for as much as possible?

Teams in SAT PREMIER season 2010 which also have C teams (this of course could change)
1. BOSA
2. ST PETERS
3. STURT MARION
4. ADELAIDE UNI
5. STIRLING
6. SALISBURY VILLA
7. VIPERS
8. MODBURY JETS
That is 8 teams in the one division which have C teams. The league would be silly not to aim for triple headers for at least 16 of the 18 Rounds. (9 triple header home games and 7 Away triple headers with 2 remaining away fixtures where the A/B's will be seperate from the C's.)
Remaining teams in SAT Div 1 without C's (at this stage)
9. ADELAIDE WANDERERS
10. ADELAIDE VILLA
The 2 above could potentially be linked with the 3 C teams listed below (which currently do not have A's or B's in any other saturday division)
8. MT BARKER (AS THERE WERE 2 C TEAMS FIELDING LAST YEAR - MAYBE AGAIN)
9. COVE
10. VIPERS (AS THERE ARE 2 C TEAMS FIELDING THIS YEAR
so as a rough guide the league could draft up some fixtures to look like similar to this below. Each Team plays an equal number of home and away matches and the triple headers are maximised.

Re: C-Teams for 2010
Last season all div 1 sunday teams had a 'c' team but we still managed to have 2 games separate from the A's and B's. The C grade league games started in "round 3" and we caught up the 'round 1' and 'round 2' fixtures when the A's and B's were playing cup games and different venues... seemed a little silly to me

I have to say the league starting later was strange to me. They should also introduce a C grade cup.andyb wrote:Last season all div 1 sunday teams had a 'c' team but we still managed to have 2 games separate from the A's and B's. Yeah that'd be good. Dont understand why they couldnt do it considering the O35s have a cup aswell as all As and Bs teams... Us not so old, not so talented, guys should get a crack at a cup tooDie Yuppie Die wrote:I have to say the league starting later was strange to me. Re: C-Teams for 2010
Judging by last years results, FC Adelaide should be included in the Saturday division 1 "C" Grade competition, particularly as i dont think very many of the Saturday division 2 clubs have a C team ?
Re: C-Teams for 2010
FC Adelaide and Navarino reserves finished 1st and 2nd respectively last season also. Does that mean their reserves should play div 1 while the Seniors stay div 2?
C teams should sit in line with the A's just like the B teams are - Regardless of finishing positions.

Re: C-Teams for 2010
I dont think you can compare C grade to Reserves ,two totally different competitions. I was just looking at if there is a division 6 again for Saturday league, most of the teams will come from clubs in div 3 and 4. Given that FC Adelaide were the best team in div 6 last year, when it was probably a bit stronger, should they be given the opportunity to compete in a higher C grade competition ?
However, having observed it a bit more, there could only be 16 C teams in total, for the Saturday league. Hopefully the SAASL and their infinite wisdom will have the foresight to organise to 8 team divisions ( div 5 and 6 ),played over 3 rounds - without all the byes like we had last year.
In the SAASL defence,i know some clubs took a while to organise their C grade sides, and then clubs withdraw after the fixtures are done, does make it difficult.

How does that work with a team like Pontians who played sundays and had a saturday C team?KOTTER wrote:FC Adelaide and Navarino reserves finished 1st and 2nd respectively last season also. Does that mean their reserves should play div 1 while the Seniors stay div 2?

Re: C-Teams for 2010
I heard Navarino are looking to create one. From division three Flinders and Hahndorf sure would field one and Mount Barker should be able to field at least one.
I've also heard Iggies may have a second C's team.
