Greek Giant Olympiakos looms as new A-League franchise Melbourne Heart's first big test in june.
Heart almost could be deemed the "away" team with Melbourne's huge Greek population.
Heart will be hosting Olympiakos at Etihad Stadium on June 26 - a split round in the AFL.
Olympiakos may also be travelling to New Zealand about a week later to play against Wellington Phoenix.
IT WOULDNT HURT OLYMPIAKOS NOT MANY INTERNATIONALS IN THEIR SQUAD.BUT GREEK SIDES HAVE A HISTORY OF TOURING WITH LIMITED SQUADS. I GUESS COL WILL BUY THE FIRST TICKWET FOR THE GAME. I PROBABLY WILL TOO, PROVIDING THE SQUAD WAS OK

Too right Blacky My guess is though, this is a great marketing ploy by the Melbourne Heart considering all Panathinaikos supporters in Australia will be the first Football supporters to own a HEART Scarf

Sir Ryan Giggs wrote:Would it not be Melbourne Vic they play against since they basically sponsor them.
Intralot are pulling sponsorship from Victory.
Intralot head of Australian operations is also head of Heart (Sidwell).
Thats the connection.

Anyway, would be extremely surprised if its anything better than a mixture of reserve and youth players.
As all the other rumours, believe it when you see it.
Also find it hard to believe that Phoenix would play them considering Olympiakos isnt the owners first preference in Greek teams (note the logo and the colours).
