27/28 Games

Post by East Boy »

Easties 2 Westies 0
Mayors Cup

Good game by our boys. We still have a long way to go before the seasons start. Things are slowly getting there and a lot of ressies took part in the game today, with only positive impacts on the game. Well done to all of those boys.
Westies are looking like they will struggle if that is there line up for the year. The harris brothers gone, spiby gone and a couple of others gone will certainly leave large holes in the team.

Florina v Gardens was nil all when i left at 1/4 time.
Florina have also appeared to have picked up Johnny Manca. Far out that side looks impressive going forward. Westers, trev, brooksy, lucky, manca and bert all in the mix. If they all stay fit they are going to score some goals! Would hate to see the wage bill. :)

A's Southern Breakers 1-1 USC Lion
B's Southern Breakers 1-1 USC Lion

The club hired a holiday home for the weekend, so the focus wasnt so much on the football

Not a bad hit out for both sides.

A's Norwood SC 2 Vipers FC 6
B's Norwood SC 4 Vipers FC 3

Was a good day, good to get a game under our belts. The B's had fair amount of possession but didn't finish off some good chances, and the A's had some good patches of play, with both sides not at full strength.

Thanks to Norwood for the game.

Highlight of the day was East Boy putting a header over the bar from half a yard out! Although he did redeem himself with a nice headed finish for the opener a few minutes later.

Modbury Jets 3 - 2 ACU Falcons (Seniors)

Modbury Jets 2 - 1 ACU Falcons (Reserves)

Not a bad effort for both teams against div 1 competition but last time I checked, a deliberate elbow to the face attracted a red card but someone forgot to alert the reserves ref of that fact......

A's: Adelaide Uni (1) 2 - 1 MSSC Blue Eagles
B's: Adelaide Uni (1) 5 or 6 - 0 MSSC Blue Eagles

Good hit out for our A's against a Saturday Div 1 team - copped the winner in the last five minutes. Good signs with another four or five to come in to our first team.

Good hit out between Farm & Vista today. They games never reached any great heights (aside from Paul Jones goal) and a couple of tasty tackles but nothing terrible. Certainly a tame Vista-Farm game compared to what we are use to.

Jarrod Noel looks very good. Robbie Williams will do will with him feeding him the ball. Just need to find someone else up there and Vista will look good. Thought PC's game was worthy of a mention also.

We never really got out of second gear but it was the 3rd game in 7 days so understandable.

Cheers to Vista for playing the game with only 2 days notice. Brought a good crowd and a few good drinkers. All the best for the season.

Oh yeah i forgot about De Goia. He didnt play yesterday either. Fair line up! going to take a good defensive team to hold them out for 90 mins and i dont think anyone has a defense up to the task.
