Would love to enter this but would take me the entire half time break to run the 100m (don't think Rick C will let me away from the team talk)

If we get a big response, we will increase the number of people that can race. We said 16 because we had to come up with a number.
Will just give some credit to Robbo here, this was his idea

Just as a side note, If we can get a few more sponsors on board, I'm happy to give the club's participant some sort of trophy also for having the fastest man in the SAASL.
No cheating though, I don't want to see Usian Bolt arrive in a Gardens shirt Lefty

Reminder that this is on a Saturday. I know trial games are important but at worst the player will run 200 meters.Ginger2106 wrote:Will let the Vale Boys know tonight but I am pretty sure we have trial games that weekend.Jay Walking wrote:16Ginger2106 wrote:Only 16 spots are available and a maximum of two people are permitted per team. Re: Fastest Footballer Race
Unfortunately I am unable to contest this race because of a prior committment.
Never argue with an idiot - they bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Re: Fastest Footballer Race
might enter this, could be funny to see the fastest man in the SAASL standing in goals for 90 minutes each week.
Re: Fastest Footballer Race
I nominate 'Old Red Back' and 'Porker' for the Downs.
WHY DO THEY CALL IT OVALTINE? I MEAN ITS ROUND, WHY DONT THEY CALL IT ROUNDTINE.

I'm afraid that Porker has hung up his spikes but they fit me so I could be a chance of running if there is a pie and a pint at the end?

We might do it like the Grayhounds were they chase a rabbit. We can put a beer and yiros at the finish line for the competitors.OldRedback wrote:I'm afraid that Porker has hung up his spikes but they fit me so I could be a chance of running if there is a pie and a pint at the end?
Re: Fastest Footballer Race
i'm with outlaw on this one, we will be entertained by a man from vista, put a red note on it outlaw...
Re: Fastest Footballer Race
I'm glad the idea has gone down well.. be pretty interesting to see i reckon. Should be an annual event.
Lefty, mate, I'm king fat man champion over 100m at our club, so take me on if you dare..
So knowing what we know who would have to be amongst the favorites as fastest in the amateur league right now ??

Would have to say dingle is up there from the farm, but Mark Burbidge is by far the fastest runner at our club and would def be in the top 3 in amateurs
