Best thing that could have happened! Just need to get Mundy fully out the door!
Football Federation SA is pleased to announce that former professional footballer and Asian Football Confederation’s A License holder Airton Andrioli has been appointed South Australia’s Technical Director.
Andrioli in his new role will ensure that the FFA technical direction, in particular the National Curriculum, is embraced and followed by coaches and players within the talented pathway.
“The appointment of Airton is a huge positive for the organisation. His work in the past two years with Football Federation SA has often gone unnoticed. The impact Airton has had across all levels of the code has been significant. He is certainly highly respected.” FFSA CEO Michael Carter said.
A key outcome of the role will be to identify coaches and players that have the ability to transition into state institute programs, W-League, National Youth League, the AIS program, the Hyundai A-League and National Youth Teams.
Football Federation Australia’s Technical Director Han Berger is delighted with the appointment of Andrioli. “Airton has shown an absolute commitment to the National Curriculum. He has a wealth of experience in playing and coaching and will be an asset to the state and Football nationally.”
The role of Technical Director will not replace the position of Football Federation SA’s Coach Development Manager, John Mundy but will further compliment his new role as Game Development Manager.
“Football Federation SA’s Development department will be further strengthened with the appointment of John and Airton. Game Development roles are complex and challenging. As the game continues to expand focusing on two clear streams of development namely Community and Elite Football is necessary to manage the huge workload.” Carter said.

Re: Andrioli the new FFSA Technical Director
I think on the FFA website, or only internally
I also think a FFSA Skills coach is on the cards too, in the next few months
From the FFA curriculum....
Initiative 1: State Technical Directors
FFA and Member Federations will appoint a Technical Director in each State
and Territory who will work under the direction of the National Technical
Director to assist in the implementation of the Curriculum.
This newly created position will play a vital role in bringing the Curriculum
to life with a major focus of ensuring that the Skill Acquisition Trainers, NTC
and State and Territory team coaches work in line with the guidelines of the
Curriculum.
The position of State Technical Director therefore requires a high level
football technician (minimum A licence).
Initiative 2: Skill Acquisition Trainers
FFA and Member Federations will appoint one (or more) skill acquisition
trainer(s) in every State / Territory to perfect and accelerate the skill
development of identified talented players at the critical ages of 8 to 12
