Luka Bloom - Dreams In America
This is the first Luka Bloom song I ever heard.
I heard it on the radio at work and didn't catch who it was.
After a bit of research I worked out who it was and bought the CD.
Since then I have seen Luka perform live about 7 times.

Was discussing old times down at the club and Spy v Spy came up in discussion.
Apparently they are still massive in Europe and South America.

The hustle and bustle of cities doesn't do much for me....I prefer the calm of the countryside and nature.

Someone could make a bit of money remixing this.
If a singing frog can make money....why not some gay puppets...?

The hustle and bustle of a city is the thing I miss the most living in adelaide.
Things I am owed because they're too tight to pay up:

Colossus: One House

Costa: One Lunch

Oh and add in

Colossus: one photo and one letter from his "attorney".

The hustle and bustle of a city is the thing I miss the most living in adelaide.
I understand, but everyone's different...when I visited the UK I loved the small village pubs, walking alongside the dry stone fencing....same in Africa..same in South America....same in Australia for me.
The country people didn't seem to have too many false values.
However, if you want the variety...big city..country towns... South Australia falls short.

Margaret Roadknight - Girls In Our Town
One of my favourite Bob Hudson (The Newcastle Song) songs.
Couldn't find his version, but this will have to do !

"The girls in our town are too good for the pill,
But if you keep asking they probably will,
Sometimes they like you or else for the thrill
And explain it away in the morning.."

Ross D Wylie - Here Comes The Star

Thought of some alternative lyrics for this old song written by Johnny Young.
Here comes Vidmar.....etc.

Image
Zoot - Eleanor Rigby
Zoot were one typical Adelaide band of the sixties with beginnings at Plympton High.
Formed by new migrants from England and Holland.

The line-up on this hit all went on to bigger things.
Beeb Birtles (vocals, bass) went on to play in The Little River Band
Daryl Cotton (lead vocals, guitar) - had several attempts at the top Cotton-Lloyd-Christian, still playing around the traps.
Rick Springfield (guitar, vocals) - went on to a solo career and American soaps
Rick Brewer (drums) - became a member of the Angels

Ian Dury - You'll See (Glimpse)
Ian Dury wrote: You'll see.

They think I'm off my crust as I creep about the caff.
But I'm really getting ready to surprise them all,
Because I'm busy sorting out the problems of the world.
And when I reveal all I may get a crinkly mouth.
I've given my all to the task at hand unstintingly.
When it's all over I'll rest on my laurels.

Here for a moment is a glimpse of my plan:
All the kids will be happy learning things.
The wind will smell of wild flowers.
Nobody will whack each other about with nasty things.
All the room in the world.

They take me for a mug because I smile.
They think I'm too out of tune to mind being patronised.
All in all, it's been another phase in my chosen career,
And when my secrets are out they'll bite their silly tongues.
All I want for my birthday is another birthday.
When skies are blue we all feel the benefit.

Glimpse Number 2 for the listener.
Everyone will feel useful in lovely ways.
Trees will be firmly rooted in town and country.
Illness and despair will be dispensed with.
All the room in the world.

They ask me if I've had the voices yet.
They don't think I know any true answers.
It's true that I haven't quite finished yet.
When it all comes out in the wash they'll eat their words.
I've got all their names and addresses.
Later on I'll write them each a thank-you letter.

Before I stop, here's a last glimpse into the general future.
Home rule will exist in each home, forever.
Every living thing will be another friend.
This wonderful state of affairs will last for always.

This has been got out by a friend.

Israel Kamakawiwo'Ole 'IZ' ' - Somewhere Over The Rainbow'
Many of you might have heard this song on movie soundtracks.
The guy who sings it , Iz, had an interesting lifetime and passed away
quite young (38) from a hereditary obesity condition.
