A friend of mine that is a Liverpool supporter said he heard that Steven Gerrard has handed in a transfer request. I find this hard to believe but who knows?

Anyone else heard anything about this?

Liverpool's talismanic skipper Steven Gerrard is allegedly on the verge of quitting the club in search of glory elsewhere, with The Daily Mail claiming that Real Madrid are now interested in the England star.


The Reds have had a dreary season, having been flushed from the Champions League into the Europa League and eliminated from both domestic cup competitions.

I think the ship has sailed on a move to Chelsea for him - they wouldn't see him as being as valuable as they did three years ago when they tried to get him. If he stays in England then City would be the obvious one - logistically and financially for him - but, for England's sake, I think he would develop as a player by tryinghis luck with Madrid or Inter whom I believe are other suitors for his signature.

I really don't think Chelsea would pay the money they're asking, but for Gerrard if he actually wants to win trophies he'd be better off at somewhere like Chelsea.

Because Liverpool never had any other decent players to back Gerrard up! With the exception of Torres and maybe Alonso for a season. Man City eventually will have a top notch team, not just a bunch of pretenders.

Wouldn't really want him at Real Madrid unless he's prepared to sit on the bench and Liverpool is willing to accept no more than 20 million pounds otherwise i'd be very happy next season with David Silva and maybe a promotion from the youth team of a young centre back to replace Metzelder. Buying back Negredo to replace Van Nistelrooy would also be good.

e-football just a question mate, if we were offered 40m and were allowed to spend the whole lot, would it be worth considering? If we were offered 40m and we spent it wisely I would definitely consider it, if Rafa was going to spend it on clias like Villa/Silva I woudl think it could be worth the gamble. If he wanted to spend it on promising players I would definitely say no.

SG has been injured most this season, and I really hope this is the main reason he has not performed like previous years.

If I had to say a definite yeas or no, I would say no.
