Who's going to the 2010 world cup?
Hey all
Just curious as to who from the community will be going?
If so what games they are going to.
Thanks

Re: Who's going to the 2010 world cup?
My son and I have our trip all booked, flights there and back sorted out...
We are flying into Cape Town on the 3rd June for a week with friends, then driving around the coast road (N2) up to Durban for the 16 day stay at Fanatics HQ in the Newlands Stadium until the 26th , we are then booked to drive up to Jo'Burg for the flight home on the 26th June...
Should be a blast... we have tickets to the 3 Aussie group games and two other games in Jo'Burg, although may consider selling these if the times clash with Aussie games, just waiting for the draw...
Managed to get trip over on FF points and 1 trip back the same way, paid for one flight home , all up flights cost is $2200 plus a load of points, stay at Durban with Fanatics around 10K , so we need to fork out for a few days car hire and food and drinks... not the cheapest trip I have ever made but the experience in Germany in '06 made me hungry for more and this one is just a warm up for the Samba WC in 2014 ...

Anyone who calls it soccer doesn't deserve to go.

Spain is my tip.
England are looking good as well and Brazil are always one of favourites.
would be nice if Australia won it..which wont happen

I would love to go but I cant get a leave pass from the family this time. Germany was brilliant.
My young daughter has said categorically - "You are not going Dad". Unfortunately they are uncomfortable about the security situation.
But the good news - I have a leave pass already booked in for Brasil 2014.

Brasil is just as dangerous as South Africa. Better keep that quiet.

Has anyone not on a tour found a bus from Jo'berg to Rustenberg for the Ghana game??
I've had a look on the net and can't seem to find any means of public transport that looks legit....
Would rather avoid driving to the game haha....

We are stayig in JoBurg, I'm 99% certain that there will be plenty of transport available over there as not that many will be staying in JoBurg also road to Rustenburg is a big busy road so will be well policed and driving should also be ok
Re: Who's going to the 2010 world cup?
Thanks mate, I finally stumbled across these guys who do match day packages to the games - there about $40 return each which is very good.Knight7 wrote:nicko wrote:Has anyone not on a tour found a bus from Jo'berg to Rustenberg for the Ghana game??
