Pre-Season
Just reading through all the clubs who are about to begin season 2010, and was wondering if everyone plans on doing the same old kick about at the home ground or perhaps a road run etc.
Thought I would start a discussion as to what people beleive are good "pre season" training drills to benefit not just fitness but skill and team building

Team building should be done with beers in hand whilst discussing skillsTop Gun Shaun Goater wrote:Just reading through all the clubs who are about to begin season 2010, and was wondering if everyone plans on doing the same old kick about at the home ground or perhaps a road run etc.

games, games & more games!
season is only 18 + Cup games so another 5-7 is always good plus nothing beats match fitness

Re: Pre-Season
Well Pumas look like they have a pretty good mix of training.
Coming from the Feds it looks relatively well put together.
They have a combination of small sided games, shuttles, road runs, beach sessions, and trial games whilst including massage therapists, Personal Trainer Conditioning work, Formation / Set Piece drills. I'm hoping it helps me drop the couple of kilos or more I've gained over the Xmas break.
They also have some social stuff such as Paintball and BBQ linked in as well.
And the commitment doesn't seem ridiculous, ie 2 x weekly.
I'm heading down tonight for the first time and I know the coach is looking for some defenders and a goalkeeper in particular, but knowing Damian if you can play he'll gladly give you a crack.

Re: Pre-Season
I don't know. I just got a call from Damian (a mate of mine) who asked me to come out and have a kick. I think it was Jack Matzapis (sic) who coached them last year...MegaBonus wrote:what happened to last years coach (pumas)???

Re: Pre-Season
No Damian is coaching. I'm not sure whether Jack has decided to take a less prominent and time consuming role and just play this year, or has decided to go elsewhere.
Either way I am sure it was Jack's decision. I couldn't see why the club would offload Jack after gaining promotion.
