Benitez admits failure could lead to Torres sale
Rafael Benitez has admitted Liverpool could consider an offer for Fernando Torres if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
Torres could be sold if Liverpool fail to reach the Champions League
Liverpool's financial issues have been well documented and it has been suggested that Benitez will only be given a small percentage of the funds raised from selling his fringe players this month.
Nonetheless, Benitez had previously been adamant that Torres would not be sold under any circumstances, saying earlier in the season that he was "not for sale at any price" and that he would leave the club if forced to sell his star striker.
However, with Liverpool's hopes of finishing in the top four still in some doubt, the Spaniard has admitted that - should they fail to reach their target - they would have to consider allowing Torres to leave if Manchester City came in with a £100 million offer.
When initially asked about the situation, Benitez said: "At the moment we have to do the best for the club - and the best for the club is trying to improve the squad."
Pressed further, though, he added: "We would have conversations if we had to decide about this. Finishing in the top four is the key to keeping everyone together."
no wonda fergie aint spent any of ronaldos money, hes waitin on El Nino

if Torres goes, i want Benitez the FFUCK out of there. i would lose all respect for him if his shhite coaching lead to finishing below 4th and losing the EPLs best striker.

there will be a fire sale at Anfield if they fail to finish top 4 - only a buy out will stop the rot

Re: Benitez admits failure could lead to Torres sale
that is very true. He's not shown any signs of wanting to leave Anfield. He's not like a certain somebody called Cristiano Ronaldo who left "coz he really wanted to play for Madrid" ($$$$$$$).

Surely Liverpool's "history and tradition" would keep him on Merseyside? We have all heard how fantastic these things are (normally in response to the rest of us saying how they haven't won the premiership!)
Re: Benitez admits failure could lead to Torres sale
torres LOVES liverpool, he even openly admitted this while captaining atletico a while back. so i dont see him going without a fight.OldRedback wrote:Surely Liverpool's "history and tradition" would keep him on Merseyside? Re: Benitez admits failure could lead to Torres sale
but thats one of two trophies we have won under him and its heading towards 4 seasons without any silverwear! not good enough for a "top 4" club.El Capitano wrote:I wonder what you said about Benitez when you guys won the Champions LeagueRed-4-Life wrote:if Torres goes, i want Benitez the FFUCK out of there. i would lose all respect for him if his shhite coaching lead to finishing below 4th and losing the EPLs best striker.
Re: Benitez admits failure could lead to Torres sale
exacty, not good at all. its not like wenger, even without silverware he still shows very very strong future production let alone what is happening now. benitez is showing nothing, besides the most frustrating football. he wont buy the right players, he wont fill the gap left by players who left like alonso, he relys on under par players and i think liverpool have one of the worst depth ive ever seen in a team. its appauling what he is doing. hes killing the club. he has to go. if he goes liverpool can make top 4.Red-4-Life wrote:but thats one of two trophies we have won under him and its heading towards 4 seasons without any silverwear! not good enough for a "top 4" club.El Capitano wrote:I wonder what you said about Benitez when you guys won the Champions LeagueRed-4-Life wrote:if Torres goes, i want Benitez the FFUCK out of there. i would lose all respect for him if his shhite coaching lead to finishing below 4th and losing the EPLs best striker.

lol @ Manure fans raving on about financial woes
sight for sore eyes: http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/mattslater/2 ... r_eve.html
If he is to be sold, he certainly wont be 'put up for sale' which would knock millions off his price and defeat the purpose.
If he's sold it will be under the radar.
Anyway, Torres isnt going anywhere. Liverpool arent in Portsmouth's situation. Keep dreaming......

the reason Baconface ain't spent any of the money is because he ain't got it. Your Yankee Doodle Dandees have already pinched it to pay their annual interest bill.MUFCBOY wrote:no wonda fergie aint spent any of ronaldos money, hes waitin on El Nino

More likely that Liverpool and the Fat Waiter will part company at the end (or maybe even before) of the yearChivas wrote:Unfortunately, Money talks and bullshiit walks!
