Goalie

Post by taffarel »

Hi everyone,

Good to know about this website. I have just arrived in Adelaide and would love to join a football club here. I am an Brazilian goalkeeper and played for South Yarra in Melbourne last season. As I know absolutely nothing about football in SA, I would like to hear from you guys if you know any amateur club which is currently looking for a goalie close to Oaklands Park, Glenelg or Brighton Beach.

Cheers

Everyone wants a goalie, just take a look at saasl.com.au for a list of clubs by division and you can see where they play and make some calls. I've never been at a club where someone has ever said they have too many goalkeepers.

Good luck.

If you are from Brazil, there's a guy over here called Aurelio Vidmar who could find a place for you in his team.

Didnt know he was Brazilian. Anyway, Adelaide United has a good keeper already. They need strikers. If he wants I can call Ronaldo back home to help them out.

South Yarra are one of , if not the, oldest teams still competing in Victoria...do they still play at Fawkner Park.
Did you play 1sts, Reserves or Masters.

Do you want to play saturday or sundays? We have both a saturday league and a sunday league here. As someone else said, last season everyone was crying out for keepers.

Whenever, usually I schedule my football appointments and then my personal ones. Believe me, two years ago my mom had to postpone her birthday party because I had a game.

I am sure you know some Brazilian keepers playing in Europe, especially Italy, but anyway, maybe the ones playing in Brazil would be more recognized if they were born in a country where the players rely too much on keepers. Fortunately, we dont.

Nah he had to leave and head back to Brazil to continue his studies.

By all accounts a really nice guy, and a massive buzz meeting the son of a World Cup winner.

Tostao nearly didnt make it because he was hit in the face by a ball which caused some damages in his eye in 1969. After the World Cup he had to retire prematurely. I guess this guy is lucky to have such a famous father as he gets buzz meetings everywhere in the world he goes.
