I find it ridiculous to suggest Messi is just a goal scorer, when that's all Ronaldo is.

In that 42 goal season Ronaldo had, he only had 8 assists in all competitions for the season. Considering in that same season, Messi had 16 goals & 13 assists. I would say Messi has an all round better game, because he is able to set up chances & also score himself. Even the following season in 08/09 Messi was more superior, because his game was better with his goals/assists ratio compared to Ronaldo.

For 2008/09 in all competitions Ronaldo had 25 goals & 8 assists, compared to Messi (and like i posted earlier) 38 goals & 16 assists.

Yeah, Ronaldo is a more complete player
