Roberto Mancini new Manchester City boss
Mark Hughes has been sacked as manager of Manchester City and replaced by former Inter Milan coach Roberto Mancini.
City have lost just twice in the league this season and Hughes departs despite seeing his team win 4-3 at home to Sunderland on Sunday morning (EDT).
But City, who are sixth in the table, have drawn eight matches this season and their record under Hughes was clearly not good enough for the club's billionaire Abu Dhabi owner Sheikh Mansour, who have spent over 200 million ($A363m) on bringing new players to Eastlands since the Welsh boss's arrival.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak, explaining Hughes's departure, said in a statement: "A return of two wins in 11 Premier League games is clearly not in line with the targets that were agreed and set.
"Sheikh Mansour and the board felt that there was no evidence that the situation would fundamentally change.
"This is a particularly difficult announcement given the personal investment over the past 15 months on all sides and we would like to put on record our respect for and thanks to Mark Hughes and we wish him the best in his future career
"Manchester City Football Club can confirm the appointment, with immediate effect on a permanent contract, of Roberto Mancini and are also pleased to announce that Brian Kidd will join Roberto as assistant manager."

Re: Roberto Mancini new Manchester City boss
PANIC!!!
WTF are they thinking? They're in the last 4 of the League Cup, beaten only twice in 18 games and they had a bloke at the helm who was gradually moulding a team.
Now they've got Mancini (great music he wrote btw ) who's never managed in the EPL and will probably be no better than Hughes. So it's back to square one, revolving door time for the players Sparky bought and another 18 months of development, at the end of which they'll decide that RM hasn't been successful, they'll sack him and the whole thing starts again. They're nutters.

Mancini > Hughes there is no doubt about that, this is a manager that has succeded at the highest level, what has Mark Hughes ever done other than be ridiculously overrated.

You may be right but time will tell. Don't forget we did all this at Spurs with Martin Jol.SpursOnTheRise wrote:Nice One Cyril wrote:and will probably be no better than Hughes

He's going to inherit a lot of talent and will undoubtedly buy a shitload more but doubt they'll settle any quicker than they have for Hughes.

On the topic, I can't see Mancini doing much. An average tactician at best.

if Serie A is so sh*t in your opinion, why cant your mob of over rated dropkicks beat them regularly. You lost to a half baked Juventus side last season FFS.
man you are a poor excuse for a football supporter. Go google some stuff about Real and jack off at home again.

You tell me about dwelling on the World Cup win and in the same sentence bring up your 9 european cups, 6 of which are made out of paper I reckon. You're the one that dwells on the past. I have not once in any post replying to you brought up Italy's WC win in 2006.
The best comeback you have is about pizza and wogs. You are a genius. Last time you did that I ripped you a new a**hole with a reply and you disappeared for two weeks.
I cant wait for the school holidays to finish so we are only subject to your ranting and raving at night time.
You are always going on that Serie A is inferior to La Liga and Real Madrid is the best etc etc - well if they are so good, again, when was the last time you beat a Serie A side in the Champions League?? You cant answer it because you dont know because you are too mental to supply a thoughtful response.
Now fu*ck off back to the crevice you were pulled out of, it was probably your mama's culo.
Re: Roberto Mancini new Manchester City boss
This is about Man City anyway.
I think that's a fkn harsh dismissal, esp considering it's mancini that is replacing him, if they had said Hiddink, then i'd kind of understand. Perhaps they think Mancini can attract more stars having coached at Inter?

and to think this spanner Hala only came on this topic because Roberto Mancini shares the same initials as Real Madrid. Sad, truly sad.

Just to answer the question...last time we beat an Italian team, it was Milan and I believe it was in the Champions league group stage...3-2 or 4-2...Guti scored I remember that and it was at the Bernabeu, also our record against Italian teams over the course of the competition isn't that bad...3 out of our 9 trophies were won against Italian opposition (a while ago though they may be). That was the last big Italian team...we also beat Lazio pretty recently in the Champions League group stage, pretty sure we beat Lazio back in the days that El Macca and Morientes were roaming around Concha Espina as well.

The big signature is pretty annoying though - is it compensating for something else?
Re: Roberto Mancini new Manchester City boss
Don't they sit in the last 16 like 15 other teams?? So on your theory, Inter, Chelsea, Barcelona and Bordeaux are all better than Real Madrid as they also sit top of their respective leagues as well.KING * HALA MADRID * wrote:when was this??? ur posts never make sense, always filled with ur woggish ways. but im guessing it was when you bit the bait like every single time i post on you you say im always dwelling on the past yet i explained where Real Madrid sit right now, especially in the Champions League. in this current time. what team do you and your whore sisters support may i ask? you surely are the greasiest of them all. scudder the fish, come bite some more of my bait.im obsessed with jerking off wrote: The best comeback you have is about pizza and wogs.
