It will be an interesting issue the AUFC Academy.
Some kids are doing both State U13 and AUFC, whereas the ones not chosen for State U13 are doing AUFC Academy.
The State U13 is part of the National Pathway program with U14 and then U15, leading into National Championships and Australian Team selection. As seen last year from a couple of the local U13 kids like Ben Warland.
The AUFC Academy isnt part of the FFA National pathway, and wont lead into the Youth League because the age gap is about 4/5 years between the players.
AUFC Academy will have the opportunity for extra coaching from former A-league players.

1997 & 1998 born. Clubs were given the opportunity to nominate three players. Representatives from the AUFC Academy have taken note of players during the STIC tournanament and possibly word of mouth, noted players were invited to attend.what a goal wrote:What ages for the Adelaide United Academy, and who is out their?
I think that the final trial is on Monday.
There will be two formats to the Academy; Elite which is scholarship based, and a 22 week fee based Academy http://www.adelaideunited.com.au/defaul ... evelopment

Re: FFSA U13 Squad and AUFC junior academy.
Clubs nominated players to try out for the academy. Although I didn't hear it mentioned at last club.
Players were also spotted at State ID champs.

What of potential conflicts in training between the ffsa, aufc and club training? How will this be sorted out and who takes preference? No doubt there will be differences in training styles, techniques and philosophies.
I know my boy's state development training is already in conflict with his new club training nights (although it hasn't started yet), additionally he is in the final trial for AUFC this coming Monday morning, adding more to his training workload (if he makes it).

State teams
Good luck to all the boys and girls heading off to the national U13 championships.
After many months of training and hard work, it starts next week in Canberra.
Some exciting talent travelling to Canberra selling SA football talent.
To David and Brian, good job with the boys.
To Ryan, sorry to hear about your wrist, we hope it gets better soon.... the boys will do you proud.
To all the state teams ......Kick ass.

I do not know which makes a man more conservative—to know nothing but the present, or nothing but the past.
