W-League Semi Finals

Post by Red-4-Life »

Saturday:
Sydney FC vs Canberra United
@ Shark Park

Sunday:
Central Coast Mariners vs Brisbane Roar
@ Bluetongue Stadium

Both games televised on ABC at 3pm

I think Sydney and Mariners will progress to the grand final next weekend.

Sydney fans are pretty noisy!

Clifford sent off very early on, denying obvious goal scoring opportunity. Sydney down to 10.

Canberra were awful. Even with a man advantage they showed no initiative. How bad is the abc commentary team. Sheryl laughs more than Simon Townsend and half the time it isn't even funny. Had to laugh at the comments after the send off. "She was the last man, the rules are black and white when it comes to that....". The rules don't say anything about the last man.

yeah its more so the "denying an obvious goal scoring opportunity" that is the ruling which the guy commentator eventually said. Sydney were just too good and i think they will win next week. Good to see some of the Cove their in full voice and ripping a flare or 2:P they do it at A-League so why not go and support W-League as well...

The grand final will be interesting, which team has the discipline to continue backing their revolving door type of play, and which team is the fittest to carry it out for 90 minutes. Mind boggling???

Yes AU girls should start training earlier. Also the Premier League games should be observed very carefully. If a player not in AU squad is seen to commit in these games consistently, (for full games), they should be added to the squad as the season progresses, this will also give the opportunity for some girls to attain a level of fitness to handle a higher level of competition.

Collectively the AU squad next season needs a very high fitness level to even be competitive with the big guns. To be a team disciplined enough to continually back up a team mate who may get caught away from their position. Reading the game.
