Re: World Cup Groups
England got a piss easy draw. North Korea's rematch with Portugal should be interesting - not so much the game but all the talk about 1966. The Swiss may be looking to brush up on their Spanish.

After an easy group in qualifying the Netherlands would be happy with that group.

Re: World Cup Groups
so, happy with this draw. Couldn't have expected better really. Rely should be getting 3 easy wins reall and then facing either serbia or ghana in the second round.

Re: World Cup Groups
i don kno what everyone is worried about, we will go to the knockout faze. i can see a win against serbia, a draw against ghana and a loss to germany. the teams arent that strong.
Re: World Cup Groups
very happy with holland's draw
i think its safe to say they will make the knockout round
what are the fixtures after this then? which group winner plays which 2nd placed team?

2. B1 v A2
3. England v D2
4. D1 v C2
5. E1 v F2
6. F1 v E2
7. G1 v H2
8. H1 v G2
then
A: 1 v England
B: 2 v 4
C: 5 v 7
D: 6 v 8
1. v C
2. B v D
England v 2
I THINK!!!
But I'm doing from memory of previous world cups and presuming that nothing has changed for this one. Like Blatter/PLatini have put in a france get to win clause.

Nice fishing.
totally agree, I think Australia is getting to the point where we should be competing with the world's second tier teamsA R S H A V I N wrote:i don kno what everyone is worried about, we will go to the knockout faze. i can see a win against serbia, a draw against ghana and a loss to germany. the teams arent that strong.

Re: World Cup Groups
I think Australia will go through to the 2nd round, big test first up through against Germany if we can get through unscathed in that game with either a draw or a small loss SHE'l BE RIGHT MATE.....
Re: World Cup Groups
They did. I wonder if Argentina win if Maradona will engage in the same sort of celebration this time as he did last time against Greece
I'm happy with Italy's group, but the way we are playing nothing is certain.

Re: World Cup Groups
I honestly believe Greece can steal second position in this group.
The game versus South Korea will be our crunch game.
I think our style of play will catch out Nigeria on the counter.
And at least this time Maradona is coaching which can only be a bonus for us.

Re: World Cup Groups
tough draw but i think the Socceroos are very capable of even topping the group. cant wait, bring it on!!
Serbia are a dark horse, and we have only lost to Ghana once in 6 matches and won 4. Lost twice to Germany and have never played Serbia. and i think Greece have a decent group as well with Argentina obviously their toughest opponent.
