Re: GARDENS SEASON 2010
Good luck to all at Gardens for the day and look forward to another competitive season next year - through all the banter I hope you have a great Xmas.
Re: GARDENS SEASON 2010
Well in Gardensgoon should be a great day Sunday pitch is looking sensational and there probably wont be too much soccer played once everyone gets a smell of the BBQ. Hopefully we might even see a few new faces & if Wanganeen doesnt turn up he's in big trouble.
Thanks Oldredback same to you mate and I look forward to catching up soon. If only you blokes were in the City of Salisbury you could play in the Mayors Cup. And yes beer prices will double just for you when you buy one at the Gardens next season .

Pfft, AU wouldn't chase a 30 something player in the Amatuers, Ryan's soon to be father in law is the coach, Mo doesn't have another year and I doubt Haywood would leave Gardens and if he did it would be because he was looking for a change and I doubt that would be to the Downs.anthrax wrote:Will head down to watch lefty and his band - wanting to see what knew recruits they will need to stay in Div 1 next year. Re: GARDENS SEASON 2010
Well if I had a dollar for everyone that has asked Paul to come & play for them next season we'd be financially better off than AU. Would have cost Farm a few dollars already Jay . But I am happy to say Paul will be around Gardens for a while he & his family are very happy cant wait for young Cedric to play U6's. And besides Jay I think Paul's got more heart than some of the AU players at the moment and they have chased many with hearts the size of peas.Jay Walking wrote:Pfft, AU wouldn't chase a 30 something player in the Amatuers, Ryan's soon to be father in law is the coach, Mo doesn't have another year and I doubt Haywood would leave Gardens and if he did it would be because he was looking for a change and I doubt that would be to the Downs.anthrax wrote:Will head down to watch lefty and his band - wanting to see what knew recruits they will need to stay in Div 1 next year. Re: GARDENS SEASON 2010
Never spoken to Paul actually outside of when I served him at the bar after the game at our ground and he seemed like a really nice guy. His wife and kid were really happy people and you could see he was having a good time, good person to keep at Gardens. Our $40 a week wouldn't quite cover is wage bill anyway lefty.lefty wrote:Well if I had a dollar for everyone that has asked Paul to come & play for them next season we'd be financially better off than AU. Re: GARDENS SEASON 2010
He hasnt retired I think Mal would like to be playing (at least over 35's) he's never been one to throw it in not even at cards but he's definately enjoyed a great career and has probably pushed himself physically to play seniors of late. Mal gives everything to play for his shirt & maybe he's decided to now give something back to the game in coaching that will only be of benefit to our club by passing on much of what he's learnt over the years. Im sure if he can play he certainly will.Jay Walking wrote:Is he not playing next season?lefty wrote:We announce that club legend Mal Thomas has been appointed Assistant/Reserves Coach in 2010 and look forward to him working along side Steve Cook.

Cant wait to throw the boots on this Wednesday night feeling pretty fit myself but not as good as Gardensgoon is looking. Should be a great preseason again this year with the game this Sunday 17th 10am against the SA Police team and again 2 weeks later leading up to the Mayors Cup playing preseason games certainly beats running .
