Re: Reserves are back!
Good question, once the final structure policy comes out the position will be clearer.
The adavnce notice is Reserves back as per 2008 and a rule for the number of SASI and W-league players for each club.
Details to be advised to clubs at a later date I believe...

Re: Reserves are back!
D1 stay in D1 but now they are no longer the second league, which is reserves.
That's right too IMO.

Re: Reserves are back!
One would presume that would be partly relative to club/teams applying to play next season.nanstar wrote:so who's in division 2 now?
will everyone move up a division?
Applaud FFSA for the advance notice to clubs me thinks.
Was it Adelaide Pie (I can't recall who it was) who had a suggestion that was cohesive and logical for the League structure, must look it up again.
As I recall it was conveyed to FFSA, maybe they are following that model.

Re: Reserves are back!
I did make the comments that I thought Prems team have a reserve team. Reserves kick off at 1.00 and prems 3.00pm.
Div 1 also have a reserve grade team and play same times as prems eg reserves first at 1.00pm.
Then teams with no second team play div 2 and down.
If you have enough teams with a second team the the same rule could apply to div 2 and keep going down.
Team that wins div 1 moves up with their reserve side, team relegated their reserve side follows them. and visa versa with lower divisions if a second tier team
Just some thoughts

Re: Reserves are back!
Apparently there's a new ruling; 3 Sasi players and 3 W-League players MAXIMUM per team.
Re: Reserves are back!
this rule needs to be redefined. If a club has 4 pre-existing united players but no sasi players does that mean that it can still pick up 3 sasi players or only two? likewise if a club has 4 pre-existing sasi players can it then pick up 3 united players. Or is it a combination of 6 "elite" players whether that be united players and/or sasi players. This needs to be set out quickly before players make moves
Re: Reserves are back!
And what happens if they are sasi and w-league players... do they count as 1 or 2???

Re: Reserves are back!
it is all defined
clubs may hav a max of 3 sasi and 3 w-league players.
no combinations etc, only 3 per sasi and w-league.
if a player is a sasi and w-league player, then they count only as a w-league player.

Re: Reserves are back!
what if teams already have more than 3 w-league players in their team tho?? are they allowed to keep them considering the rule has only just come in or will these ppl have to find different clubs??
Re: Reserves are back!
Why not get your club rep to contact either Tracey or Wendy, they will give you the right answer. If some one already has the answer maybe they can post it.gubs wrote:what if teams already have more than 3 w-league players in their team tho?? are they allowed to keep them considering the rule has only just come in or will these ppl have to find different clubs??
The goalkeeper is the jewel in the crown and getting at him should be almost impossible. It's the biggest sin in football to make him do any work.

Which rule? That reserves are back or limiting SASI and W-league players?Commando wrote:this is the most stupid rule.

Also why does it make you angry?
I would have thought that speading these players across clubs would be good.

Re: Reserves are back!
Not sure how much information you have been given by your Club or Delegate's but I thought I would share with you what I received recently from WendY Carter
I would strongly suggest if you have any questions that you direct to Tracey or Wendy at FFSA for the most up todate answer.
====================
Dear all
As you would all be aware the Football Federation SA conducted surveys and meetings with clubs to ascertain feedback regarding Season 2010. Following this feedback the Football Federation SA will be implementing the following for 2010 Season.
All Premier Division Clubs that had their second team placed in Division 2 or 3 in Season 2009 will revert back to their position in 2008 as a Reserve Division Team. This decision has been made following feedback not only from the Premier Division Clubs but also Division 1 and lower division clubs. A ruling will be in place that will only permit Premier Division Players (a player who is named on a Premier Division Team Sheet) to move only to the Reserve Division. A maximum number of Reserve Division Players will also be permitted to move to the clubs next lowest division.
The current policy of the registration of SASI Scholarship Holders is currently being finalised. It is anticipated that as of Season 2010 a club may be permitted to register 3 SASI Scholarship Holders and 3 W-League Players. If a player is both a SASI Scholarship Holder and a W-League Player, the player will be classed as a W-League player. A ruling relating to home grown players will also be in place. Full details of the policy will be distributed shortly.
This information is being distributed to assist the clubs planning for Season 2010. Please do not hesitate to contact Tracey Dycer or myself (Wendy) if you have any queries
I hope this helps

He cannot kick with his left foot, he cannot head a ball, he cannot tackle and he doesn't score many goals. Apart from that he's all right.

Re: Reserves are back!
Please note in regards to the second ruling these can be 3 SASI Players and 3 W-League players NOT a combination of each to give a club 6 players in total.

what about if players have to go to a sh-it team because of it.

Re: Reserves are back!
At least if they have to go to a sh-it team, they can look like outstanding players, rather than looking somewhat mediocre (no offence to any players intended), as part of a team that all have a higher skill level.
I mean, you see some of the girls playing in the prems league and they dont seem anything special, because they choose to play at teams that are known to be "better".
Distribute the skill and you might see a more even competition. Besides, the occassional pettiness & b!tchiness at some of the "better" clubs is somewhat undesirable to a lot of people.

Re: Reserves are back!
You dont even play. So thats pretty irrelevant.
Good teams are generally good all round. They get along well, they support each other, they dont get angry and end up fighting amongst themselves on the pitch.
Much more appealing than being in a team thats so focussed on winning they end up yelling at each other, and trying to do everything on their own and end up looking stupid.
These W league players should be stepping up to be leaders of womens soccer, and if that means finding a new club then so be it. If they dont want to play at a "sh-it" club, and help provide a more even competition, then what are they doing playing in the W league.

Re: Reserves are back!
well done to ffsa for reinstating the reserves league. maybe they actually do listen to peoples opinions afterall. that or they realised that absolutely no one agreed with how things were last year.
adelaidepie, your idea there makes complete sense as well, i like it.
and i totally agree with the limiting of players. sure, players might have to move clubs and i know that i would hate to do that, esp if i've been at a club for a few years, but if players of a higher standard start to move around, and play in clubs of lesser standards, it's going to positively affect the competition as a whole. the standard will only get better that way. instead of the top of the table completely dominating the bottom part of the table.
plus there was a mention of a home grown rule, that they obviously haven't quite figured out yet.

My understanding is no one has to go anywhere.Commando wrote:why not

The thinking again as I understand it is to restrict some clubs continually recruiting to become even stronger.
Develop your own juniors instead of raiding others...homegrowns

Re: Reserves are back!
Glad to see reserves back, but I wouldn't worry too much about the SASI/W-League ruling, i don't think it's actually going to affect any clubs. If anything I can see it benefiting the so-called 'big clubs'.
The only club I can think of with more than 3 w-league players is metro, but i'm also pretty sure that Kristy, Donna, and Rochelle will all count as 'home-grown', Leaving them perfectly free to keep Lauren and Ebony, and I would also imagine that Greta wouldn't count as she was only an injury cover player. Also how do they define a W-League player? I think it was leps that wrote on here in a previous topic that none of the girls have longer than a one year contract, so once the w-league season ends, then technically I suppose none of them are w-league players anymore!
Also by making dual players count as W-League players you could also see a freeing up of spots for clubs to take on even more SASI scholarship holders. I.E. If ruth goes back to Sturt, herself and Macca would no longer count as SASI players, but W-league allowing to sturt to bring in a few more SASI players.
So it's all nice in theory, but it's not going to change much!
But it's nice to see that FFSA listen to our feedback!

Re: Reserves are back!
sounds like this will be a good move by the FFSA, i think it will make the Women's leagues a lot more organised and allow for greater competition right across the board.
Re: Reserves are back!
how are the good players supposed to improve by going to sh-it clubs. They will end up dropping there playing standards, because they will never be challenged at training. And will always think they are the best in the team so will never strive to improve. Therefore leading to a drop in the overall standard of the game through-out the state.
Would you rather own the worst house in the best street?
Or the best house in the worst street?
You can always make ur house better to match the street
But your house cant make the worst street the best street
Its unfair to force players to play at clubs they don’t want to be at.
