it all is to do with the context of the game - high level/pressure/intensity match, the stricter you have to be. not saying in easy games you be lazy of course.

it gets cut throat when you have a punch up between the parents up in the stands

very much so and it can be hard to re-assert control over a wild match when taken the game gets crazy, players start getting aggressive and go in for dangerous tackles and this is where fights tend to break out

when i played...our pre season games were fights fights and more fights game got abandoned once as well
