keano junior has it spot on, platini is french so of course he loves it and prob decided the seeding once france were garaunteed a play off spot, its a disgrace... game should be replayed there is that much contraversy to it, and at least these days, unlike 86, we have the technology to erradicate these refereeing errors from the game...

collosus i find it rich you saying keano is bringing the game into disrepute, what has henry done, he created this media storm, he should be banned after the fact like eduardo was...
I dont like the fact that Henry celebrated.

And lets be honest, Blatter the little piglet and Platini would have been delighted with the result. So bringing the game into disrepute....... maybe technically, but I reckon he was spot on.

dont know why you keep going on about the chances ireland missed thats got nothing to do with it, its really an issue about the context of the moment (extra time in a w/cup qualifier) and the sportsmanship of an individual at that moment. he's prepared to cheat and he got away with it. to me that reflects on what he is as a person. not excuses in this era of fair play - he makes a mockery of it. his integrity was put to the test and was showed for what it is. how he could look dunne in the eye, i dont know, he's cheated on his fellow professionals. For him to then put the onus on the referree is a cop out. good luck to him hope he enjoys his world cup, i for one hope he get snapped in the first 5-minutes.

wouldnt agree with a replay its basically just very poor referring, how they missed the offiside is as bad as the handball and unfortunately this is football - but he would have shown himself to be a true sportsman if he owned up to the referree.
You just dont get it do you??? Its not about believing Henry, for farks sake its not even about Henry. Did he score directly from the handball??? No he didnt. This is about you people harping on 1 moment of a game that went for over 90 friken minutes. Why not harp on every single moment that Ireland had in front of goal because thats what cost them, not Thierry Henry. That handball would not even be mentioned if Ireland had won that game but because they lost, they choose to harp on it, what a load of rubbish. You question Henrys sportsmanship on one incident??? Well congratulations, because if Henry is to be judged by you on one MINOR incident for his whole entire Footballing career then i feel sorry for you and you arent someone to reason with. Henry isnt there to look dunne in the eyes, nor is he there to play to the same standards of his fellow professionals, he is there to help France whichever way he can, just like Dunne is there to help Ireland whichever way he can. Do we now call every Footballer that has ever handled a ball, dived in the box, pulled on a shirt (which by the way we call professional foul  ), purposely brought down outside the box (which we also call a professional foul  ) as CHEATS??? Because that is what ultimately you are implying and that is so wrong its not funny. Get over it blue moon, it was one incident in one game that went for over 90 minutes. How about the referee and his assistant, how about the Irish finishing, how about the Irish coach, how about those things, did they not contribute??? Or did the whole game revolve around one friken incident???

I have to agree there should not be a replay, but FIFA did order Uzbekistan and Bahrain to replay their qualifier four years ago after a japanese referee made a major coçk up. Bahrain who were rightfully beaten in the original tie won the replay so I was glad they lost out to New Zealand this time.

no you just dont get it. its about a split moment in the dying moments of a game after two teams have played evenly for probably two years over a dozen games and still then goes to extra time. its the context of the moment - one person makes a decision to blatently cheat in order to get his team over the line when they havnt been able to before. it just says so much about a persons sportsmanship and their real qualities as a person when put on the spot at the crucial moment. its like a cricketer claiming a catch when he knows its bounced to win a test match, get the result but lose as a person. some people just find that acceptable and thats fine, personally myself a lot of other people dont. i'm not pro irish just a neutral, i'm sure they wouldnt have had to much sympathy if it were england on the end of the decision.

You've already been found to be a hypocrite, now I understand it stems from your xenophobia. Funny how both undesirable characteristics are from the greek language.

If it did happen, I'm sure platini would be finding a way to have a replay or invent a new rule where unfair play means disqualification. I'm generally not big on conspiracy theories but what was wrong about the playoff draw was the seedings. There was no seedings done prior in other playoff games so why this year? If anything maybe ireland should have been seeded as they went undefeated through the group stage which included the world champions. I wouldn't go as far to say that the ref's had an agenda though, if they did the dive from anelka certainly would have been a penalty  I don't think it matters where the player is from, its down to individual player doing the action. I know what robbie would have done

Colossus , you must not use logic -you make too many people look silly.

Facts are: 1. Henry committed a foul.
a) If the ref did his job right, he would have given a free kick (and maybe a yellow ticket).
During the game , the ref would have given a number of free kicks.
Are all the players who did a foul during the game "bad sportsmen" or "cheats"? No
If ref ruled a foul against Henry, does this make Henry a bad s/man or cheat? No

b)Did Henry have any control over refs decision? No

Therefore anyone calling Henry a cheat is pointing the finger at the wrong man.

2. Keane has clearly brought the game into disrepute. In fact, some would say he has been defamatory.
