That balloon.

Post by M160RA »

Liverpool seemed let down and deflated, almost as if the FSW was about to pop. I'm sure they'll bounce back.
Manchester United, not arrogant, just better.

What can you say other than iiiiiiidiot!

Why on earth would you throw a ball in fornt of your own keeper, may as well throw a flare at him whilst you're at it!

The young lad may as well start supporting Everton!

Bloody funny though!

It does bring up a very good point that the security is poor, obviously had that goal not gone in the game could have been completely different. I'm not sure wether it should go down as a freak event or something should be done about it.

I can say that security will be much tighter at football matches now, that is certain.

I also noticed that fantasy league is down at the moment, could this be because they don't know whether to give the points to Bent or the Balloon?

I still can't believe it - you can't be angry, because its one of those freak events that will never happen again!

And to Dean Sturridge commentating saying it was Riena's responsibility to get it out hte box, what a dud - Sunderland were on the attack and if he went to kick it away and they scored....that would been
Tommy: We've lost Gorgeous George.

Brick Top: Well, where'd you lose him? He ain't a set of fucking car keys now, is he? And it ain't as if he's incon-fucking-spicuous now, is it?

Dean Sturridge has NFI - it's not Riena's responsibility! If he saw the beach ball on the field, the Ref should have stopped the game and had it removed.

yes, it isn't Reina's responsibility, however from what I have heard, the beach ball/balloon was floating around that area for 3-4 minutes before the Sunderland attack that led to the goal

surely Reina could have taken some initiative and just knocked it off the pitch :?

These things happen, move on.

It was freak, but we lost beacuse we played like shite, not because of that goal.

UTD lost to Liverpool last season because they had a foreign useless object on the pitch most the game....but the game wasn't replayed beacuse it took the ref so long to send Vidic off

Sources today claimed that the said balloon/beach ball was seen out late in a pub in Sunderland, creating havoc with patrons, menacing bouncers and was charged with indecent behaviour. It also blew way over the limit when trying to make it's way home as well as disturbing the peace in which an air leak was mistakenly taken for deliberate flatulance "raspberry noises" toward police. The FA are considering further sanctions, including a 3 match suspension and possible loss of future match payments and refilling rights.
The balloon refused to comment and was accused of letting out a lot of hot air when confronted by reporters early this morning.

If the beach ball had deflected the match ball wide of goal it would be have been Liverpools best defender of the match.

Season or two? I think his start so far this season has been great. Hope to see more goals + assists.

To be honest i haven't watched much of him this year, that's good to hear though, he has always assisted well, hopefully he takes the next step and starts scoring more

Sunderland dominated the whole game though,
on fox sports they showed that 40 secs b4 the goal the ball was safely in the back of the net.
only conclusion i can draw is if reina went to clear it outta the net and realised we were on the attack and pushed it to one side???

I think Riena and all the liverpool players were thinking : Well, we got one more defender now on the field and that's why neglected the ball " ..
