Something to ponder as i sit here printing more preso night tickets, something to think about as i mark the seven aside pitch at 7am tommorow and definitly will be on my mind as i ref the games tommorow night. Sometimes when its a two horse race the best result is not always acheived.

Heard a story last night that the former state league team from pirie were entering the amateur competition. Anyone else hear this? wouldnt think many teams would be keen on the road trip up there.

Would be very surprised if Pirie got a ticket to Div 2, after all the league stipulates that if a Div 2 club pulls out, next in line from Div 3 goes up.

Only way possible i'd think if the club was to merge with a current Div 2 club.

If they merged with someone they would have plenty of players available for Adelaide games....I don't see the SAASL paying for their busses every other week though.

couldnt merge with a team from 500m down the road ..... so i think it very unlikely that a merger with an adelaide team would happen

Not sure of divisions or days. The only thing I have heard is that they're joining the SAASL.

In most European leagues if two clubs merge they have to take the place of the lower league team, thus preventing teams with money trying to buy their way up the divisions.
