anyone have info on how to go about starting a soccer/football club in the Melbourne area? What are the processes/steps to form a club, which teams to play with, where to recruit players, what an annual budget, etc....

Is there any other questions you need answering ?
We're always willing to offer our wisdom
that was the first.....so does anyone know, have done that, want to do that too, etc...?
First work out if your calling it a Soccer Club or a Football Club
Then work out if you want a Federation Team or an Amateur Team
If Federation you will need to recruit hundreds of juniors (doesn't matter if they can play or not) charge them hundreds and hundreds of dollars to train with generally parents or volunteers who always wanted to be coaches
Then offer a few hundred dollars a week (from the money collected from the juniors) for Amateur players who don't enjoying drinking (they can then call themselves professionals)

soccer = football..... a rose in any language is still a rose
is a federation club part of a state and FFA sanctioned league that can get promoted or relegated to the premier division or to the lowest division?
how much are the fees/charges and how much do clubs pay their players per game, per week, per month, per year, or per season?
Seriously you will need about $5,000 to register the name as a club or business (get a lawyer to do that) and join a Federation either the FFSA or Amatuer league, given the requirements of being in the state league, ground standard, having juniors etc you are probably best off starting in Amatuers, hold trials in November ready for pre season, advertise it here and on the website of whatever Federation you join then hold promos in your area handing out flyers in shops etc, and thats forgetting public liability insurance and a million other things.
I hope this is a start, your lawyer can tell you the rest of the legal stuff.
