$75,000 raised in this competition and the comets are blaming the council. Why don't they have the initiative to do something positive instead of waiting for the council?

How much are the other expenses? I smell a very very healthy profit which a big portion is not being put back into the community.
75K?? haha you guys are dreaming. do you know how much it costs to run a tournament like that. Referees, Staff and most importantly LIGHTING?

Haha do the real math guys

Crap referees and Crap pitches
Piches are fine as for refs, better than having official refs than club officials. Some of the players don't help with their behaviour.

130 senior, veterans, womens teams.
26 junior teams.

$770 per team for senior, veterans, womens teams.
$550 per junior team.

(130 * 770) + (26 * 550) = $114,400
source - comets website.

Then add in the canteen, bbq and so forth. Lets say $2000 per matchday as a low-ball estimate there. Over the course of 11 weeks is $22000. (given the margin on canteen items isnt as high as the revenue from the actual competion.
Nevertheless, bringing the total gross revenue upward of $135,000.

Not having a dig because I enjoy the comp and have done for about 5 years now.
But they should really be providing a better service for that amount of money inwards.....

While it's fair enough things aren't going to be perfect. Surely as organisers you should be concerned about the safety of your paying customers?

and that is a great question. Is it comets or the council's responsbility? if the council is mowing it, then maybe it's there's?

GG, fukkem, you dont need to explain yourself to these flogs

The Adelaide Comets have been running their 7 a-side competition for a number of years now and every year has proven to be more successfull than the last

as mentioned previously, for those few flogs that have nothing better to do with their lives other than getting on here and bagging a well run competition, no-one is paying you to go out and play there. if you're not happy, go to one of the other competitions. get over it, FLOGS!
