Can anyone from the Comets tell me how many teams are participating in the comp?
What is the registration cost per team?
So the revenue raised for the comets from a comp like this would be how much?
What are the assosciated expenses in running a comp like this?
how much would it cost to fix the pitch so that it's not comparible to the tracks in the flinders ranges?
DISGRACEFUL PITCHES
GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER AND LOOK AFTER THE SOCCER COMMUNITY.
You would think the money they charge teams to play out there, that the pitch conditions would be better. Firstly how hard is it to mow a pitch, half of them were like a paddock, all over the place. Secondly, how bad are the pit holes. I am coming back from a knee reconstruction (which was firstly suffered on a comets pitch), and re-jarred it tonight from all of the pot holes. If you are going to charge this much, lift your game Adelaide Comets. DISGRACE!!!!
I was there tonight too, pitches are terrible, shouldn't be allowed. But is it the Comets or the City Council that's responsible? I want to know where to send my physiotherapy bills.
...and I take it the council gets payed a shit load to keep the pitches in a playable condition. If it's not in a playable condition somebody has to take responsibly. Out of the 8 or so pitches at least 3/4 of them are unsafe.
I am sure the comets are partly negligent on this one. My lawyer is already on to it.

were you forced to play? NO
was the state of the pitch visible to the naked eye? YES
did you have the opportunity to inspect it prior to the game? YES
did the referee decide it was unsafe to play? NO
theres also something called 'contributory negligence'....you had a choice!!!!!

haha typical of the council!
How did the ground end up so bad anyway? It's almost like the council only watered certain spots.
no-one is paying you to go out and play there. if you're not happy, go to one of the other competitions. get over it. it's not like the pitches have been spectacular every other year so i am not sure what you expected.

Maybe it's because of some of the heifers playing for Cumby compared to the thoroughbreds at Comets

can you still join other competitions? most of the teams would of been unaware of the pitches before paying the money and won't be able to get a refund/find another comp
Dry your eyes princesses. $75 is pretty cheap for 12 games. Try playing "social" 5-a-side/futsal - $55 team registration, $55 per match. And they make it up as they go along, with fucking terrible refereeing (apart from a couple of guys).
$75,000 raised in this competition and the comets are blaming the council. Why don't they have the initiative to do something positive instead of waiting for the council?
How much are the other expenses? I smell a very very healthy profit which a big portion is not being put back into the community.
Played there last night, well organised, pitches will do as they copped a hammering through out the season, ref was good, cant complain and well done Comets

lol.....how bout asking other clubs how much it costs to run about 20 teams, and 3 in FFSa , and see if 75k is enough,.,..lol
Guys how many teams do you think play there for 10 months of the year? not including 7 -a-side ?
30 Junior teams YES that’s right 30! that’s approx 450 kids & seniors running around 2-3 nights a week.
Do you think it's easy to keep the grounds 110% all year? Almost impossible.
You all obviously haven't seen some of the grounds for other small sided comps this season.
This is also the first year the Glendi Greek festival hasn't been at Ellis park so going forward the grounds can only get better. From previous years once the festival had taken place the pitch was shocking and never got time to repair because of the amount of usage the grass took afterwards and until the end of the year.
Guys if you want to complain about the condition of the pitch then do so but in fairness to the usuage of the place.
However to have a dig at the club and say that from all the money they make they should fix it then you obviously have no idea how hard it is to keep everything so well maintained after how much usage the park takes.
Im playing in 2 competitions this season and I can tell you the comets one is by far the most professional run and organised. I played at Ellis Monday night and didnt have a problem.
