Have you gone to the Adelaide United website and checked the number already signed?
There is 15, plus another GK makes 16. Enough to play the first game.
Maybe leaving some places open for now to see what they need for team structure and availability.

One would presume the captaincy will be announced closer to the first game.

Last year things were somewhat rushed according to some on this forum. Let the powers that be try and pull the right rein this time.

Have patience people.

Papageorgiou? Great choice IMO!
If that's true...it's not saying anything on the website.

So far there are 15 players, and Metro has the highest number:

4 from Metro
1 from Sturt
2 from Olympic
3 from interstate (will they train with the team?)
3 from SASI (no club)
1 from A.City
1 from Fulham

No they(queensland girls) dont train with AU but get amazing training up in queensland, mainly because FFA can not fly them down to train every week because they cant afford it....

Dont forget that AU is now a FFA club not privately owned.

Just read on the W-League Home page that Ange F is the new face of the Adelaide United W-League. Well done. Good interview too from Amy Taylor!!!

Looked at the team list. Is it still to be added too?

Two out of the three questions have been answered.

Unforunately it seems as if no one can shed any light as to whether a squad has now been selected. The webiste has more holes in it than swiss cheese.

What is the complete squad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The squad is yet to be completed.
And yes, the season does begin in just over a week.

Adelaide united lost to state u14 boys 5-0 tonight

were outclassed in every department...good efforts from macca, leps and shorty when they were on i thought - did their best to deal with tough quick opposition

season begins monday...may god have mercy on our souls

Given the importance and prestige surrounding the W-League, I think the selectors have erred big time. Given the importance of getting this comp right, the first formative years should have had the nucleus of an experienced group of players. I would have had a look at the last Sensations team and tried and form the team around them. Yes I agree in development. Yes I agree on giving players a go however, this is far too important team/competition to leave it to chance.

The first Adelaide united men’s team was made up of ready made and proven players. It needed to get runs on the boards and gain credibility with “name” players in that and all the other A-league Squads. Success was immediate and a great following came with it.

A year or 3 later, the youth team came along. It seems as if the W-league has not gone down that path.

The Lady reds needed to build upon name players who have been there and after a season or two, start to include new players.

I think my analysis is pretty well spot on. No disrespect, local league vs. W-League should be a huge jump. The former National League had experienced and battle hardened players.

Who is the best local women's coach? FFSA should ask him/her to coach the women IMO!
No disrespect intended for MB but he was not in his element at all last year. Had no idea. For what I hear, he has the wrong approach, girls aren't like men.

The truth is that FFSA had no respect/consideration/confidence in local women's football at all. Heda coach should be a women's coach, then if they want to give him/her men's assistant coaches (who are supposedly much better) they can do so. That may work to develop the team, but at least having someone who knows how to deal with the girls' team and make them perform. All the A.United players come from clubs or SASI, where they are coached by women's coaches...or is it their fault now that then the AU team is crap????

Name players from the old womens league that you would have in the team and I will tell you why they are not there........

Or try to any way....
