Olympiakos sack coach after just 2 games
Olympiakos sack coach Ketsbaia after just 2 league games.
What is wrong with Olympiakos?
they lost a friendly game 5-0..... who cares about a friendly game
they drew to kavala a newly promoted team at home 0-0. only bad result so far including champs league games
by the looks of it, the board and fans at olympiakos are running scared this year,
no need to act so quickly..
any thoughts olympiakos supporters???

Niko Goumas I am preety sure he resigned!
They didnt sack him. Anyway he wasn't a fan favourite anyway, during the 0-0 draw to Kavala the fans were screaming out "Ernesto Valverde" throughout the whole match.

Now that's what I call high quality H2O.

glad to see the back of him to be honest, he was never the man for the job
Re: Olympiakos sack coach after just 2 games
haha what a bourdelo of a club.
Surely he would go down as the most succesful coach to get the boot:
6 games
5 wins
1 draw
9 goals for
0 goals against
and who do you want Valverde, a coach who couldnt get past Anorthosis (coached by guess who! haha) and relegation zoned St Etienne.........
big bourdello.
Still paying out Solleids (another sacked coach) contract from 3 years ago...

Re: Olympiakos sack coach after just 2 games
remember it wasnt that long ago that Olympiakos sacked their coach after winning the league & cup double. Cant recall his name, a Russian guy. So a friendly loss and he is gone..........they did spend up to be competitive this year and on paper they look very strong.
Re: Olympiakos sack coach after just 2 games
Greek champions Olympiakos announced on Tuesday that they have fired Georgian coach Temuri Ketsbaia.
"Olympiakos have parted company with head coach Temuri Ketsbaia by mutual agreement," an announcement by the club said.
The statement added that scout Boidar Bandovic will take over the coaching post temporarily until a permanent replacement for Ketsbaia is appointed.
Bandovic will be assisted by Andreas Niniadis, another scout.
The firing of Ketsbaia comes on the eve of the club's Champions League Group H home match with Dutch champions AZ Alkmaar.
Olympiakos officials and supporters were angered by the team's latest showing, a surprise 0-0 draw at home to newly-promoted Kavala on Sunday, following a 5-0 drubbing in a friendly against Ergotelis.
They are currently sixth in the Greek Super League after two matches.
Ketsbaia, 41, a former Newcastle United midfielder, led Olympiakos to the group stages of the Champions League after victories over Slovan Bratislava and Sheriff Tiraspol in the preliminary rounds.
Olympiakos president Socrates Kokkalis took a gamble in May by hiring the inexperienced Ketsbaia, who had led Cypriot club Anorthosis Famagusta to the Champions League groups stage last season, knocking out Olympiakos in the process.
Ketsbaia joined Anorthosis in 2002. It was his first coaching position.
As a player, besides Newcastle United, he also played for Anorthosis, Dinamo Sukhumi, Dinamo Tbilisi, AEK Athens, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Dundee.

Re: Olympiakos sack coach after just 2 games
Buddy, im the supreme pessimist.
Ive never said it was our year......Where????
You must be confusing AEK with another team from Athens.
I think we have improved on last year, and will play good football this year for a change, but as for title credentials....we are a distant third. And its been like that since 2004.
Regarding money. It may surprise you to know that out of the big 3 clubs, the least solvent club is that from the Limani! To do a 40-50% share placement colossal in terms of raising equity.
Anyway, Zico comes, Zico goes by this time next year.
Alefantos or Lemoni in.....
I know the unwritten rules of Greek football are 'you have to disagree because your a rival supporter'....but honestly, look how many coaches you've burnt in the last 5 years alone. I can go back deeper too if you like, remember 04/05 season? and 99/00 season, 3 coaches in a year.
tell me thats not a circus of a club (irrespective of what mine has been) and your a brave brave man!!....
