To see Aaron Westevellt play for Florina C team in an attempt to win the div 8 title seems to me a lttle bit of a cheat as he has been a first team regular all year. Hats off to you guys for winning the prem div but to stoop to that seems to have taken the shine off your season. My opinion only what others think may differ.

Cmon Marooned dont tell me Downs havnt done anything of the sort in the past or are you just upset it was Azza.

I remember Fuda playing against our C Team last year scoring 2 or 3 before half time then going off.

I Remember a horse called Bold Personality in a maiden race at Doomben and the owner called it Fine Cotton, to the punters that backed the horse you got stiffed as you done your dough. To all the other horses and trainers in that race it was underhanded and not fair play. The rest of the country called it a "ring in", a better class horse put in a lower grade to reap a benefit.

I think the score was 4-3 to Florina and Aaron got two goals. Unfortunately Lion beat Inter to win the Div 8 title.

i played for Mod Vista over 35s some 15 years ago and on the last day were were in for a title shot at Ingle Farm when they brought on a young Brad Donavan late in the second half and he tore us to shreds. Within the rules yes, fair, well none of us thought so.

As i said its in my opinion and i will leave it at that. Sour grapes? Definately. Very sour.

over the years all clubs would have played an a grade player in the c's either last game of the year , team knocked out in cup round ...

i suppose the main thing is a forumite making comment within the last month and his club the same....

maybe if the league stated a player CANNOT play in the c's if they played A's the week before yet how do we monitor that

and then if you have a player that plays in the A's all the time yet for that weekend has a function and only play at 11am

and i must say when i was playing c's it was always great havin an a grade player playing whether to regain fitness or other reasons

Wow that would of been a long, long time ago. Before we all got to the Farm, they could barely get a B team together let alone an Over 35's. Brad looks old anyway

I don't have a problem with Azza playing in the C's. Maybe he felt he hadn't played well the week before and needed to drop himself In the end, the best team won the league. I would of loved to have played against Azza and Downs had nothing to win or lose from the game so I wouldn't be to concerned.

It does make Ontheblackburner look a little silly accusing us but hey, this is a forum and we are all gulity of saying stupid things on here.

All heirachy at Florina know what i say is with tongue in cheek, I think the best team won the div 1 title and the best team won the div 8 title. Peter (the prez) and I have become close friends over the last 4 years and had many a session (outside SAASL offices smoking BnHs) plotting the downfall of other clubs . You have my total respect. Im hoping that this will be my last year in the hot seat and that someone else will step up to the plate, at the same time i hope all friendships made with other clubs will remain strong as time passes. To Azza its a pleasure to watch someone with your skills play in any div and at any time.
To all ex Downs players at Florina we all know time heals all wounds (yes even you Stavros ya dikhead)

Like i said b4, Azza appearance in the c's added something to the game. It was a dead rubber for the Downs C team but with Azza on our side, it made them push hard for a win (and imagine if you had actually gotten a win, you'd have braggin' rights for a fricken eternity).

The Downs C2 team contained 5-6 players who played C's against us last time. They were in a championship battle against FOB, so it is actually a bit rich for the Downs to be complaining.

Bcz the players who played against FOB, there were 6-7 who 100 percent played against us at our ground. Number 9, shaven head with tatoos played against us last time. The old guy up front that has heaps of pace and skill, always causes us heart ache - he played against us last time. They played C1 on the weekend, not against us.

That player in questions turned up late, knew which way he was kicking but likes to take the piss out of Robbo. He asked him which was we were kicking as a joke and he also told him he hadn't been home yet as he was out all night. It was all for a laugh and he hadn't played in the B's the 3 weeks prior due to illness.
