E&D PR

Post by REDS »

Hi Everyone,

The end of season 2009 is fast approaching – a time when players, parents and coaches look forward to a break. This year’s registration numbers increased yet again with a total of 4358 players. No doubt the ever increasing popularity of the game is a contributing factor along with the success of Australian players overseas, the Socceroos, the Matildas and our own Adelaide United A League team.

The increase in players necessitates an increase in the number of coaches and modified rules referees. A total of 170 new coaches were accredited through our Academy and 33 modified rules referees.

Our newest club, Andrews Farm, was formed earlier this year and has a bright future as its player list continues to grow. During the year we have had enquiries from Fulham, Stingrays, Bosna, to name a few with a view to joining EDJSA. Consideration and discussions will need to take place before any decisions are made.

As EDJSA did not participate in the State Championships this year Representative Teams played an internal competition against teams within the Association during the June long week-end. State Championships involve approximately 120 EDJSA players. This year’s internal competition gave many others the chance to participate. It was a big success. A big thank-you to Ingle Farm Soccer Club for all of its hard work and the use of their facilities.

Our Academy staff and coaches have been visiting clubs offering specialist coaching sessions. This has proved to be very popular. You may contact Mr Dennis Mobbs, Academy Administrator, on 0412733718 if you would like to make a booking for 2010. Bookings are essential.

Challenge Cup finals this year will be held at Salisbury United Soccer Club, Decimal Road, Salisbury North on 26th and 27th September. Good luck to all teams that reach the finals. Whether you win or not it is great to be part of it and get that far. Everyone is welcome and it is a fun day. Through the generosity of the Amateurs, with whom we are now affiliated, the under 18 Challenge Cup Finals will be held at Hindmarsh Stadium on Sunday 27th September. Kickoff is at 10am and will be a curtain raiser to the Amateur games. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Yours in Soccer,

Martyn Dayman, EDJSA Public Relations Officer

33 modified rules referees- the E&D do this well

State Championships involve approximately 120 EDJSA players - but didnt they just play against themselves????

Our newest club, Andrews Farm, was formed earlier this year and has a bright future as its player list continues to grow. I hear they only got a couple of < under 8 teams probably less than 15 players and the E&D basically ran it for them - so it will be interesting to see how they go next year when they stand on there own 2 feet But I suppose you have to start somewhere.

Fulham, Stingrays, Bosna, interesting districts of Elizabeth?

Dennis Mobbs - didnt he get the flick?

Challenge Cup finals this year will be held at Salisbury United Soccer Club - I wonder what the FFSA think of this - not that they can do anything about it though if they were not happy with this.

This has been going on for the last 3 years and if a Fed club wants to hire out their ground and make some money from it, good luck to them. Hardly an FFSA issue.

The E&D probably thought the same thing with there zone team plans this year and we all know how that ended up, now dont we.

Interesting how this years its now moved to Salisbury and I wonder what the hire fees are going to be, $1 or nix?

what a joke that is andrew farm the justification is appualing and the fact its a conflict of interest the surrounding clubs must be fuming - stealing players and encouraging them to go to andrews farm, plus behind the door delas to setup club rooms etc faster than other realted clubs such as virginia living in a shed, angle vale prett close to the same thing, downs and munno para plus gawler. some of those edjsa exec's need a good looka t themsleves.

big fat joke ! they screwd up kids potenial selection and the games were average, i t was a last minute attempt to satisfy parents anger and backlash for a wasted year in zone teams

how does that work ? nice of them to put differences aside

Yours in Soccer,

Martyn Dayman, EDJSA Public Relations Officer conflict of interest in many areas - sponsors, new club and zone not a great record

Dennis Mobbs - didnt he get the flick?no that was ray mathews i think , but hes likley to contest it shot himself in the foot several times

Challenge Cup finals this year will be held at Salisbury United Soccer Club - I wonder what the FFSA think of this - not that they can do anything about it though if they were not happy with this.main reason is playford charged an large fee for use and then profited on the food and drinks so i guess edjsa went for a better option besides share it around
