The sad thing is that the 17's, who have had a good season will suffer next year at the hands of the 16's results.

Well that's life, some 17's teams will benefit from their 16's staying up. Maybe the club should have supported the lads a bit more maybe bringing down some of those great 17's that were eligible, every other 'A' club does it. It seems to me the Northern clubs that have an E&D background don't seem to have that ruthless streak in them that the old fed clubs tend to have, I thought that was the right way to go but I'm not so sure now, It hasn't helped one of my lads teams this year. A or B does it really matter, most of the talented ones should be playing at least some games for the 19's or reserves next year. But if there are not many 17's eligible then the lads that will be playing next year for the 17's are the 16's this year and they only got themselves to blame. (if that makes any sense  ) I think the seniors situation is the sad one for Salisbury this year a missed opportunity.

anyway that's my rant, getting to the end of the season, maybe a bit sick of it all

10 posts and 6 of them on the U16s, fantastic. I have a feeling you won't be getting too many votes for club person of the year.

Yeah, that’s right TB, think of your own situation, not what’s good for the club.

When the team only had 11 players 2 games in a row, did you help by putting your player on roster to miss a game down to play for the U16’s? No. So maybe instead of sniping on this forum, perhaps you should have approached the team and coaches to find out what’s going on and offered support.

Also, if your team is as good as you say it is, how come no U17 player has played up for the U19’s, when U16 and U15 players have been promoted to do so?

Don’t know how these people can take themselves soooo seriously, when some of them don’t know the first thing about the game they purport to love!!!!

To Prefly: good on you - great for someone to stand up for a bunch of kids having a hard time, and criticising those who don’t seem to be able to help themselves. Seems typical of the Salisbury spirit and character, obviously you have to use this forum instead of facing the people concerned and remain faceless and nameless.

I have absolutely nothing to do with Salisbury. I was just responding to The Bosses gripe about the position that his lads team might be in next year. I don't think anyone values my opinion about football down at Salisbury, and to brutally honest I don't give a rats about them either, we have the same thing to worry about up at Gawler. 11 players for 2 weeks in a row "that's bloody luxury lad"

Soccerheart "newbie"

Perhaps you had better get your facts straight before you come on here and slag people.

Firstly, I stated a fact, there was no criticism of the team, It was not a dig at the 16's. Secondly, they will suffer too, not just the handful of 17's that are still eligible next year.

Also, if a team is short, surely it is their responsibility to make their position known and request players. It is not up to the other teams to check on them to see if they are ok.

Last of all, the 17's have helped out the 19's on numerous occasions when they were short.....because they asked. So I don't know where you got your information from.

TB, you previously stated, and I quote "The sad thing is that the 17's, who have had a good season will suffer next year at the hands of the 16's results."

And you say that you regards this as not being a criticism of the team.

My information came from the club - so either you are telling furfies, the coach is telling them, or the club heirarchy is telling them. After all, they are well aware of the results for the season and the injuries and illnesses involved, which have all gone unnoticed. Also, as the ONLY Division 1 side in the entire club, they have had no support from said club!!!!

You obviously have problems grasping the English language or the written word.
Nowhere did I state that the team was at fault or to blame, purely highlighted the fact that it was an unfortunate outcome for others as well.
Sure you can stack sides to win games but at the end of the day is that beneficial to the players that miss out or sit on the bench because a coach has decided to bring some guns in from another team? Everyone pays their hard earned money to see their child play and develop, not to miss a game because a coach wants to win so bad that he has to bring in half a dozen players. I've seen it happen and it turns ugly for everyone involved.

If you care so much about the club, perhaps you would like to explain to the 17's team why they were dropped into division 2 by FFSA after earning the right to be in dvision 1? Or is that another thing you didn't know?

There's nothing like going through a 5 month pre-season expecting to be in the A division and then 2 weeks before the season starts be informed that you have been dropped to the B division to make up numbers. All teams have their hard luck stories but we move on.

I think you have to look a bit deeper and get to the bottom of who is telling the "furfies"

I took that also as a snipe at the U16s, so maybe u need to watch your wording TB. Also TB if the team has ever been short it has drawn on the other players from the club for support who are eligible.

Did the Junior delegates put the scores in? I think Dimitri needs to see them from both delegates before updating the web site.
