Of all the new signings and existing squad Milito by far gets 3 votes from me in a club b&f in both games played so far. Love seeing strikers work so hard for his side.

Amazing the first time you see him do it, but the outside of the right boot is his trademark.

Considering he's played without having previously trained with his team mates it was exceptional performance but no stand out. He's been brought in to play a central attacking midfield role behind two strikers and other than Stankovic (who happily plays in any of the three other midfield spots) the role is his for the taking.

I haven't seen a lot of Sneijder previously other than the odd highlight clip. Looking at him physically I wasn't expecting much, looks like a light weight rabbit which works against you in Italy, but seeing him go in, and win a 50/50 challenge on Nesta on the rosso wing (members) it was probably the most satisfying contribution he made for me. Seeing that he has a bit of mongrel about him and he can use both feet (frustrates the hell out of me how many players can make it to Serie A with only one foot) it gives me a bit of confidence that finally we might find a Dutchman who has something to offer us.

Fair shot on him too but his free kicks were poor, I'm guessing he's a bit of a specialist because no one bothered to step up and take them while he was on the pitch.

Of the previous Dutch players we've had Bergkamp flop (he was part of a UEFA cup win but in the same year where we came closest to relegation in my living memory). Probably more our fault than his, as we played him as a 2nd striker to Ruben Sosa rather than the attacking midfielder role which he kept crying out to play.

Andy Van der Meyde was tragic and lost out on the wing, couldn't defend and had little impact forward. Edger Davids was on the wrong side of his career. Wim Jonk & Aron Winter were probably the best Dutchmen I've seen play for Inter and they were just consistent performers and no stand outs.

i guarantee you sneijder will not be a flop

van der meyde - had 1 good season with ajax and left too early (look at him now, doesnt even sit on the bench at everton)
davids - as you said, too old
bergkamp - not sure why he flopped, prolly didnt suit italy

but people seem to think sneijder's size is a problem... it isnt! he doesnt need any height. his roll is to create chances with through balls, and take shots at goal

and his free kicks are great (although mightve been bad that game)

His height doesn't concern me. Matthaeus & Baggio are only slightly taller, but they were both built more solid than Sneijder.

I remember watching Baggio train in a preseason camp and from the distance thought he was carrying extra kilos, it was only when they came off the pitch and got a closer look that I realised it was all chest. His upper body was like a 44 gallon drum, probably had something to do with his Juve days though :P

Sneijder is still young and his game is still developing. I don't know how quick he is but hopefully what he lacks in size he makes up with pace. I'm sure he'll fill out with the Italian dietician as well, just hopefully not to Gascoigne proportion :P

I thoroughly enjoyed this game, although Gattuso should have received a straight red card for the penalty.

By the way, Milan were the home team.
