why do you think the italian supporters dislike the english ones so much...
English football hit its nadir at the Hysel stadium in Brussels on May 29th. All the ills of the game came together at the summit of European football: the final of the Champions Cup, Liverpool v Juventus. And when the dust had settled 39 people were dead and more than 400 injured.
The catalogue of mistakes that led to this tragedy indicted everybody involved in the game. The stadium was a crumbling dinosaur; the fans were drunk, many of them ticket-less and there was no proper segregation; the policing was so inadequate that sticks, bottles and iron bars were easily smuggled into the stadium The facts of the incident were commonplace, it could have happened at almost any average English ground. The outcome was appalling.
Two sets of rival fans taunted each other, hurling insults and missiles, and Liverpool fans charged Juventus fans three times. The third time Juventus fans tried to run to safety, but there was no way out. An old wall collapsed under the pressure and in the ensuing panic people tumbled over each other and crushed each other to death. Meanwhile the police were using batons to clear the area while people lay dying. The FA reacted by withdrawing English clubs from European football and Prime Minister Thatcher demanded quick solutions.

WANK WANK
load of crap story.....
If it actually did happen....no-one would b alive to tell the story
All jokes aside, many times we have heard stories about this team and that, as much as its a real problem in football, FIFA needs to stamp out this violence and protect the innocence.
I do not condone this rubbish racial attacks and believe that those who attack minor groups, are a worthless piece of SH!T.
Whats happened in the past, stays in the past and people need to move on. Yeah the english supporters are and have been the most hated because of their hooligalism (look at the events in June in Germany), but their are unfortunate innocent people who have to suffer because of a small no of D!CKHEADS. So if that story did happen above - I am appalled, but I think its properly been over ezagerated?

And you think the Juventus fans were blameless for what happened at Heysel? Idiot.*Del*Piero* wrote:why do you think the italian supporters dislike the english ones so much...

Hooliganism was rife all over Europe, not just in England. Every major footballing country was as bad as each other. Of course we heard more about the English hooligans just like we hear more about English football generally in Australia. These days "the ultras" in Italy and their equivalents in other countries are the worst around.
agreed, the report is from a fkn west ham supporter... wat a crock of shit... but what would the west ham fans expect a fkn welcoming party?? they should have worn their Mafia t-shirts they wore at Upton Park to Palermo and see how far they would have gotten with them on... either way the hammers got hammered 4-0 over two legs, get over it... cherish the experience, we wont be seeing west ham in europe for another 10 years!diegom wrote:WANK WANK

It is unbelievable that over 20 years after the Heysel tragedy people are still blaming both sets of fans and not the real criminals: UEFA and Belgian authoritise for organising such a venue and declaring it fit.
All structures should be prepared for sudden movement of huge amounts of people, that was a piss poor structure and the real criminals should be brought to justice, never mind the violent supporters.

i dont agree with this, but i must say the english have brought this upon themselves. english hooliganism in football matches over years has not gone by unnoticed and supporters have had enough.
to top it off, all european party spots (e.g. greek islands, italy, croatia) are full of english drunks that start trouble.
sorry guys, but the english are not very much loved in europe, and if u look at the situation from an outsiders perspective u can see why.
im not saying that all english folk are like this, but its the few loud ones that give u guys a bad name. (a bit like nai ego eimai gives the greeks a bad name)

The countries you mentioned also have the worst reputation for racism against blacks in football, especially Spain and Italy. So I'm not sure their prejudices have much merit.Scudetto8687 wrote:With regards to that comment, I think its a general thing. If you go to France, Italy, Greece, Spain they all have a low opinion of the English and it hasnt got a lot to do with Football.

.....as do Australians (seen plenty of brawls at the footy and cricket). The point is, I don't think any particular race of people are more hooligan than others. There are d#ckheads everywhere and once they get a bit of piss into them, the mob mentality comes out.glass houses and stone throwing.
english, italians, spanish, germans - they all have an element of hooliganism or racism in their game.
cut all this, "you're worse than us" crap
The real problem lies with the appropriate authorities dealing with the trouble-makers, and it can probably be argued that the Italian FA and clubs are slow to sort out the fans that cause trouble (unlike the English authorities who have worked hard to remove the hooligan element from the game).
"Remember kids - stay in school"
I agree there are d1ckheads everywhere, just look at this at forum and you have ronaldo07... but to say English authorities have done more than most is a crock of shyte... is that why West Ham sold tops "West Ham v The Mafia"?P.
