Re: Saturday Div 4 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Strath 1 -1 Pumas (reserves)
Strath went 1-0 up in the 2nd half with a wind assisted shot! Pumas hit back with a corner set piece goal.
Dropped points for Pumas, Good result for OISC
Its games like this I want to play.... WHY DID I HAVE TO BREAK MY BLOODY LEGS!!!

Re: Saturday Div 4 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
Results Rd 17 15 August 2009
Adelaide Uni (3) v OISC (2) 2-3 (0-2)
Strathalbyn v Adelaide Pumas 2-6 (1-1)
ACU Falcons v Murray Bridge 3-1 (2-2)
Torrens Valley v Simba of Congo 0-5
Saturday Division 4
Comments:
Strath v ACU and TV v Murray Bridge are the catch up matches I assume to be played after the season is over
It Falcons and Bridge win those games in hand, Pumas still have to play Falcons and Bridge which could make for a very interesting finish!
Saturday Division 4 Reserves
Comments: Pumas' draw doesn't affect much, still looks like it will come down to the final game, unless Murray Bridge have something to do with it

Tips for Player of the year in div 4???
"If football is going the way Chelsea and Liverpool are taking it, we had better be ready to wave goodbye to any expression of the cleverness and talent we have enjoyed for a century."

Big game for ACU Falcons. Needing a win to stay in the hunt for Promotion... going to be tough for you guys though playing top of the table Pumas.
should be a good game both teams like to play rather than butcher players.

As we're a church team its the feast of our patron saint that morning at 9, the plan is to annouce there that we're all heading to Valley View and we'll see how many come along and support us. We usually have about 10-20 come to away games but given the importance of the fixture hopefully we'll get a few more..Juvefan 08 wrote:hopefully you bring a crowd think we have a Massive BBQ going. will be good pity i wont be able to play against you though.acu_falcon wrote:Thats true we got no hackers in either team which is more than I can say for some teams...Juvefan 08 wrote:Big game for ACU Falcons. Why were these results posted three times?
Does Kevin Rudd refer to his genitals as the stimulus package?

Results Rd 18 22 August 2009
Adelaide Pumas v ACU Falcons 4-1 (5-0)
OISC (2) v Strathalbyn 2-0 (2-1)
Murray Bridge v Torrens Valley 3-1
Simba of Congo v Adelaide Uni (3) 1-0 (3-4)
Saturday Division 4
Comments
Table is missing two catch-up matches (Strath v ACU; TV v MB). The last three matches for Pumas are Murray Bridge, Torrens Valley and OISC. Assuming Pumas beat Murray Bridge next week, they have won the title (as they play TV the week after).
The battle for second spot is hotting up! We have a little say in the matter, as we play ACU and MB in the next two rounds. Simba have the upper hand though if they won yesterday.
Saturday Division 4 Reserves
Comments:
Pumas and OISC do the business today. Next week are the two crucial encounters. OISC play ACU and need to boost their goal difference to get up to Pumas' level. Pumas travel to Murray Bridge and can't afford to drop any points, or OISC may win the title the week after against Murray Bridge at home, making the 'Grand Final' at the end of the season redundant.

The race for second in Div 4 could not be closer...
Even if Simba won we (Murray Bridge) still have a game in hand on them and its against torrens valley..
Going to get very interesting very soon!

We won't find out until next year when the divisions get announcedChelsea4thewin wrote:does anyone know what is happening with promotion to div 3? will 2 or 3 teams be promoted?
But considering Flinders are relegated from Division 2, it would be a contravention of SAASL rules to have Flinders (2) in the same division, so one would assume that they definitely come down. BUT, they aren't in the relegation spots atm - so who really knows?
As for SA Bullets, that's anybody's guess.
Maybe 4 teams go up? My personal bet is 3.

Re: Saturday Div 4 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
ACU reserves is looking like having their strongest side all season assuming certian injuries come good in the seniors. We kept Pumas scoreless in the first half and they looked very worried in the first 10 mins of the 2nd half. They chucked a couple of extra strikers forward and our midfielders just ran out of legs in the end. I personally believe they are a stronger side than Iggies reserves and we'll do our best to put an interesting spin on the rest of the season.Kitchimo wrote:Results Rd 18 22 August 2009

yeah u guys did play well in the first half acu, really had a lot of space in the midfield
we tried out a new formation that just didnt work out at all, we went back to our usual formation in the second half and the result showed

Re: Saturday Div 4 Predictions, Results, Thoughts, Rumours
I think your formation didnt work becuase you played with 1 striker (number 10) and we changed our defensive formation from flat 4 (which rarely worked because we never pushed up in a line) to 3 with a sweeper, so if he got past our stopper our sweeper would cut it off.Chelsea4thewin wrote:yeah u guys did play well in the first half acu, really had a lot of space in the midfield

Unfortunately in the second half our fullbacks couldnt keep up with you sending one striker either side of the sweeper.
We'll probably stick with this formation becuase it nearly won us the game against Bridge and our sweeper has taken a liking to the position....

well we actually were trying 3 upfront but that just gave u too much time in the midfield so those players were dropping back too much
i think we thought we could just walk all over you guys but you have improved quite a bit since last time we played
