PS. Not with either team so impartial observer
Which is funny because it's the one team they'd really want to beat most. Maybe that's why?

Adelaide City had heaps of time to play with the ball in the 16s game
Cumberland did not want to press

16s game was full of skill lots of individuals not afraid to attack the defenders and dribbling players in the middle of the park

We don't really talk about wanting to beat anybody from one week to the next, let alone Modbury the most. Having said that, the parents play it up a bit but that's because of the healthy rivalry between the two Clubs and the sets of parents. We are more interested in trying to play nice soccer which I think was there for all to see on Sunday. We learned a lot from the game and if we can apply the gained knowledge, then we're happy regardless of the result.

Hows it going Jesus. What is it about this forum that everytime someone compliments a side it is assumed they are associated with that side. WRONG. There is nothing better than beating Modbury or Para Hills. But having watched both sides this year I was really impressed with PH's ball transition and they definitely play the nicest soccer in U15s. No my son doesn't play for them - he plays against them but also appreciates the quality of their play.

Is it so strange or unusual for an opponent to compliment another team. What has happened to the essence of sport.

And the end result was 1-0 to City from what was a great free kick.

So all these things were happening in the other 89 minutes, but no other goals were scored - something doesn't quite add up.

You can dribble all you like for 90 minutes but if you ain't entertaining the fans........

Just hold that thought for a week or two before you do anything about it

I know from a coach's perspective that's true, but it's difficult when the kids go to school together etc to stop them giving it to each other. Good to see you feel you can learn from the defeat - one of the signs of a good coach imo.

Its not about entertaining the fans GM
It was a junior U16s game....the emphasis should be based on skills
and dribbling is a skill
no wonder Australia complains about not having any players with attacking flair no one wants to appreciate it at juniors

Totally agree Henri. A player that can dribble and beat opponents is priceless at all levels of the game. Not enough emphasis on this skill in junior soccer. But its a difficult skill to teach - only a select few can
