I said last night before the game, i think liverpool will be somewhere in the top 5, spurs, man city, arsenal, chelsea and man u will all be around the mark.

I had a multi on Tottenham to win this one, would have collected over 1.7k if bolton drew.

I have to say, Tottenham looked very impressive, Assu-Ekotto (sp) what a goal, Keane looked very impressive as did Corluka. At the start of the game i was wondering why Spurs bought Bassong, let alone started him, but maybe he was just shite because he played for Newcastle.
I actually thought Lucas was one of the better performers for Liverpool.
(Thats not saying much considering how badly the team performed, but I certainly wouldn't single him out as having a shocker)
Yeah was probably bad to say he had a shocker, i dunno at some points he looked out of his league.

Anyone know if Skrtel is alright?

also another issue, no depth in the team. a bench that consists of:
benayoun: good player should start
dossena: not good enough
vorinon: not good enough
spearing: rate him but young
kelly: young player, don't know much about him
ayala: young, seemed okay

however looking at other teams benches: arsenal: eduardo, silvestre, eboue, mannone, perez, ramsey wilkshere: most proven good young/older players..good bench
man u: brown, giggs, owen, gibson, anderson, de laet: i know all of them apart from the last one and they are squad players for top 4 side
chelsea: ballack, deco, kalou, ivanovic, sturridge, hutchinson: again apart from the last guy, that is a great bench to have

we have no depth and we won't win a league without something similiar to these teams

We do have some good young players like Pachecho, Spearing, El Zhar, Plessis, Ngog, Nemeth - i think its time we start promoting a few...Ngog and El Zhar got a bit of a dig last year, but only when we were 4-0 up or something.

See the mancs and gooners have mastered this, they have slowly given reserves game time. Look at Rafael/Fabio, Walcott, Evans, Macheda, Ramsey, Vela, Hoyte, Song, Barazite. Now im not sure how many were bought, but most have originated from the lower ranks in the club.

Our starting line up is finally starting to develop cracks, and now, when we need players, we have none to fall back onto....

Its black and white in the laws of the game:
A player is deemed to be offside, if, by where, he is nearer to his opponents' goal than the second last defender.

The cross is one play. The next phase begins when the header on the post is the other.
Hart #1 opponent, where is number #2?......On the other side of Rooney.
So therefore, how can it not be offside?

An argument contrary to the above is an argument against the laws of the game.

Finally, on an unrelated manner. I'm such a poor angler, but it turns out after all these years I've been using the wrong bait....

I haven't seen the incident, but where a phase stops/starts is open to interpretation.

agree..some of our young players are good so why doesn't rafa give them a go..i am sure that can't perform worse than what some of our players are

LOL ok enough is enough.
Read the small text below the last few of my posts!....

Was watching the game in Greek on NovaSports.
And unless a goal is scored from 35 yards out they claim offside. These commentators was going on for about 10minutes and complaining that the BBC/ITV (cant remember) directors werent giving him a side angle replay, like they do abuot 15 times over and over again in Greece.

They finally worked it out at half time that if Rooney was behind the ball (obv he was when he connected with the header) it cant be offside. Much like if you dribble when through on goals past the last defender.
Was funny at the time...

Just thought I'd throw out a line.........for Monday morning's sake!

you cant be offside if you are behind the ball.
when the header was made rooney was obviously behind the ball (rather inline, but for all purposes consider that behind the ball).

the fact that it bounced off the post is irrelevant. its much like passing to yourself!
weather its with a header bouncing off the post, or a dribble through on goal....doesnt matter. the same principle applies!

in all seriousness now, how on earth is that incorrect??????????????

it's not incorrect but it is irrelevant as rooney had one if not two defenders in front of him. your cover up is poor, admit it, you made a complete ar5e of yourself.

As terrible as liverpool was, spurs look like a well balanced team, even have some depth in their bench. More points in 1 game than it took them 8 or so games last year. predict another 5th place finish for them

See i dont recon Babel is a flop, play him in behind Torres - or next to him...he isnt a winger, he plays best as a striker or in some type of supporting role. Unlike Yossi he cant just dribble down he wing - he proved a few years ago in our champs league campaign he can play...

I don't have any time at all for Babel. He doesn't deserve the chance to play behind/next to Torres or anywhere else on the park in my opinion.
