I might be wrong here but from what I understand they nearly did it again on the weekend and when it was noted that a card check was being done 3 players went and got changed..!!

As I said though, I can be wrong but it is what I heard.

thats fair enough and i won't argue that point but if i'm not mistaken didn't they unknowingly do it in error against knights the other week? and if so has there been any action taken by the league? if not then it's pretty poor from the league IMO

Rumour has it that, apart from playing 2 players who were sent off by their own Referee in the Reserve game against Gully the previous week (not recorded on match card), Raptors had been notified by SAASL of a third player who had accumulated 4 yellow cards : in theory 3 suspended players.

lol, like i'm 100% sure you wouldn't claim a goal that went through the side netting or condone a player who dives from start to finish!

I believe the facts are, 1 player from Raptors was suspended due to 4 yellows, 1 player from Knights was suspended for the same reason. Both teams were sent letters, Knights didn't play their player, Raptors played theirs.

Raptors claim they didn't know, didn't receive the letter

Last week I was done for driving 57km in a 50km zone, I claimed I never knew - thought it was a 60km zone sadly still got done

So if SAASL is credible then there should only be one result

Sorry if the above isn't Poltically correct but seemingly that's ok Mega?

@knight7

it is a very silly game youre playing if you are trying to take the high morale ground...there's skeletons in your closet!!!!

i would have thought after years of mutual respect, the least you could have done was to personally pose a question to me... unlike you, i have a sense of decorum by not airing dirty laundry...

I believe it was the League that informed us, I don't know how other teams found out. If I know the league they are probably delaying, hoping that the result will have no bearing either way - which looking at the table is doubtful - personally wouldn't be upset if it had to be replayed

Actually Mega I suggest you were looking to take the morale high ground - "wouldn't knowingly play a suspended player" - at least when you scored and the referee didn't award it we admitted afterwards that it was well over the line

Would I have claimed a goal that went through the side netting? Yes 100% certianly, no morale high ground there - however I would admit to it after the game!

For what it's worth however I do believe your mistake in this instance was genuine

Pretty sure Croatia lost points for the same thing last year, if so there'd have to be the same outcome surely

ive been a long time Raptors player, and if it comes out that it was genuine, id personally be very disappointed with the people at our club for allowing this to happen

if the shoe was on the other foot, no doubt someone from our club would kick up a stink and ask for the 3 points to go our way or at least have the game replayed - and rightly so.

before the game v Sthn Knights i know i (and all other players no doubt) had no idea we were playing suspended players and had i known, i wouldve spoken up about it. if we win, we win fair and square.

As for the Knights 'side netting goal' of a few seasons ago, i wasnt there that day so i cant comment, but for all the years ive played at Raptors weve always played the game in the right spirit

Its quite strange how the knives come out.
I'm with Maxin in the shade on this.
I have been a player at Raptors from 1995...and in all that time I have never been knowingly part of my club to have purposely done something like this. Its just not within the club's or coach's spirit and psyche .
Its strange that if indeed it is true and it was an honest mistake how some people are reacting!
The Southern knights boys jump up and down whenever they lose from us! They continue to rehash the ' side netting' incident but fail to mention previous encounters at their home ground for the previous years before that!
I'll happily wait for the outbursts from fat matt and friends asking me for more detail about these incidents I mention, knowing their memories seem to be self serving!
Difference in all this....there was no whinging and whining from us back then :D

Even a couple that were sent off for abusing own ref. The way the pres was talking after these incidents I thought the B ref was going to put in the reds, obviously mistaken.
So Raptors were not aware that they had players sent off in the Reserves game against Tea Tree Gully that found their way into their First Team the following week ?
Maybe it was just a rumour.

Na! couldn't care less. The game was almost three weeks ago, you guys know and we are pretty sure you guys have bent the rules slightly. But then what can we do about it? If you guys stay up we look forward to the next game. :clown:

You wonder why the knives come out?

At least he has the decency not to get into a "slanging match"

Knights didn't start this thread
I did say I believed it was a genuine mistake
And also suggested a replay would be fair

Why inflame the situation with slander and false allegations? Matt has said nothing :clown:

no we don't actually.
it's pretty clear that you and a couple of your club mates can't handle losing.

i dont see raptors players posting on here how we hard done by everytime we lose (which has been quite often :D ), shifting the topic onto opposition players and the way they play or speculating what may have happened years ago.

now get over it and move on.
