Comments: As predicated about two weeks ago, Budapest are on the down. I wouldn't expect them to pick up another point this season. Salisbury Villa and Vipers are practically promoted now. Interesting reading the news about Africa Utd, could mean third place wins a lucky prize draw.

Relegation battle is getting a bit crazy now. Flinders are surely gone, but 4 points separates 4th and 9th.

Comments: Salisbury Villa's title to lose now. They play FC Adelaide and Navarino in the next 2 rounds, get through that unscathed and the championship is theirs. If Budapest go up then it would have to be the worst first division reserves team in history!

Comments:
The top 5 played the bottom 5 today. To my knowledge so far, top 5 have recorded 4 wins, awaiting Budapest v FCA result.

Flinders go down following their loss today. Second relegation spot heating up. Monarchs last three games are the three teams currently directly above them, so those games will shape that battle.

Mathematically, only 4 teams can now win the title, but realistically it will come down to Vipers and Villa. Third place spot now also seems coveted. Will Budapest's early season run of form allow them to hold onto it?

The Navarino (the best team we have played this year, and that includes the Division 1 sides in the Cup and Para Hills East) victory over Salisbury Villa throws this league WIDE open. Next week Salisbury Villa host FC Adelaide in a HUGE encounter. Assuming FCA smashed Budapest today, the result in that game is crucial to all of the 4 teams still in the mix!

The first two teams might not be the only sides being promoted. Heard another rumor about Africa being sent straight to Division 3, regardless of where they finish in division 1. This could mean the first 3 sides in the second division will be promoted, leaving the door open for the sides below the top 2. That's Budpaest, Comets and Iggies I believe.

Assuming that's the case, Comets V OISC next weekend is absolutely massive in the race for the possible 3rd promotion spot.

The fact that Africa were allowed to play on the weekend suggests to me that they'll still be around (and relegated through normal means). We'll still aim to finish as high as possible. Our Treasurer is still jizzing himself that we might get some prizemoney

I believe that players in our team have all excelled at different points of the season and would've stolen points off of each other, so hard to tell really.

Last year we finished 3rd and had the 2nd top goalscorer (and potentially best defence?) and didn't have one player in the shortlist!

Reputation means nothing though, I think that's 7 or 8 straight wins now? I'll tip them right now for Division 1 Champions in 2010! The destination of the title is still unknown. Salisbury Villa should also go up.

At the other end of the table, Monarchs played their first direct opponent and lost. Failure to beat FC Adelaide next week will see them relegated. Breakers and Navarino gave themselves some breathing space with two solid wins. However, if Monarchs beat FCA, they play Breakers in the final round, so there are still plenty of permutations in the bottom half. Only the top 5 are safe at the moment.

Plenty of people tipped us for relegation, however the players pulled together and have secured promotion to Div 1 with 2 games left. We haven't lost since the spanking your boys gave us, so it's a massive change from last year's efforts when depth cost us a few games in the second round.

Don't know about Div 1 Champions, too many strong teams with plenty of experience, but as always, we'll do our best and see how we go.

Villa a certainty to come up with us, congratulations must also be given to them. Really just goes to show how strong Div 3 was last season with Vipers, Villa & Comets all finishing in the top half.

Anyway, enough of that for now, we are still hungry for that championship, and haven't let promotion distract us.
