Div 3/4/5 quarter final cup results
Div 3
Western Districts 1 Parafield Gardens 3
With Toro's scoring early in the 1st half the pressure was then put on Garden's to get another one back - we did and then broke away but it was not easy to maintain the 3-1 lead late into the 2nd half
The game was played in very good spirits - Well done to all the girls.

Re: Div 3/4/5 quarter final cup results
This is a first me agreeing with Deutchland Dutchess!
But yes I think the goal early in the first half rattled Parafield a little and toros were doing their best to keep the momentum going their way. A goal late in the first half by Parafield got them back into the game.
In the second half Parafield came out fired up and scored very early to take the lead. Within a short time Parafield got another and from there it was always going to be hard for toros to get back into the game. To toros credit although the game was gone they kept attacking but the result in the end was never in doubt for Parafield.
Game worthy of a higher round (purely because there now have been 3 good games between the top side of Div 3 and Toros, not because other teams don't deserve an opportunity to play in the later rounds just so no one thinks I am having a pot shot at other teams) and venue but hey these are the way the cups go.
P.S Thanks to Salisbury United for the loan of their pitch and facilities for the cup round since SAWSA park wasn't available

I'm glad I didn't go because I would have gone to toros home ground thinking it was there.adelaidepie wrote:P.S Thanks to Salisbury United for the loan of their pitch and facilities for the cup round since SAWSA park wasn't available

Re: Div 3/4/5 quarter final cup results
Actually this opens up another debate.
I have seen a few clubs lighting over the last couple of years and I have posed this question to FFSA via Tracey.
In my opinion Toros lights are as good as Elizabeth Downs and Parafields yet (no disrespect here) both clubs have approval for night games were as Toros and other clubs like toros dont. Part of this I would suspect is because clubs linked with the mens teams in the federation have to have a higher standard of lighting incase they make a higher federation grade which is fine for the men but realistically I believe the lights are good enough for the womens league games.
I'm not saying that the womens league is less than the mens league just if competition games are expected to be played during the week in the womens league then either clubs have to lift their standards because no club can keep going out and hunting for grounds or there should be a review of the standards and all teams grounds and lights looked at again before next season.
Again I say in my opinion most clubs that I have seen have lights good enough to play the game yet for some reason one club has approval and another doesn't when the lights are very simular.
We have catch up games, cup games etc so the games are getting more regular.
Just a thought

How to Toros' lights compare with Sturt's. I've never seen the lights qat Toros, but there was a game at Sturt a couple of weeks ago and the lighting there isn't the best.

Both the downs and gardens mens teams are in the saasl amateur league, both are not affiliated with ffsa/federation. Wouldnt be surprised if that has something to do with it...tho i dnt know the other clubs who hav approval or dnt hav approval but shouldadelaidepie wrote: In my opinion Toros lights are as good as Elizabeth Downs and Parafields yet (no disrespect here) both clubs have approval for night games were as Toros and other clubs like toros dont. Has nothing to do with it stupid comment. Our lights would be better if Parafield Airport didnt stop us from using one of the light towers however they are still fine to play under.on the side wrote:Both the downs and gardens mens teams are in the saasl amateur league, both are not affiliated with ffsa/federation. Well done to the girls and although Toro's did score from a goalkeeping/defender error they never really had too many shots on goal & Gardens defence was solid but Toro's did have some good run through their midfield and were certainly on top in the first half.
Well done to Salisbury for making their ground available but I was thirsty though

Toros parafield game was a very good game to watch, toros came out strong in the first half and was rewarded with the first goal of the game, but it appeared after this the girls took their foot of the ball a bit and appeared to get lazy, not being first to the ball, not pushing up quickly and not shutting down players and because of this parafield got their goal.
Second half parafield appeared to come out a lot stronger where as toros looked half asleep for most of it and were making errors which allowed parafield's attack to get in scoring them two goals and therefore winning the game, it wasnt until after this toros started to push a bit but there was no way they would be able to get themselves back into the game to push for extra time or even penalties. i believe if toros played the way they did up to their goal, they could have won, sadly for them the girls took their eye off the prize and now have been knocked out.
