Waterboy here are the facts. The Waterboy wrote:Well In you are entitled to your opinion, but as I know the U11 Comets coach, he is a very nice guy and a good coach.
Also this "arguement" or "fued" or whatever you want to call it started when the Strikers steward told the coach to step behind the line, I for one am a coach any many times have I stepped over the line to talk to my players or to signal to the referee for a sub and I havent got in trouble. In an U11 game surely there is no harm of stepping over the line.
Oh also to Bruce I'm never wrong
You were born an assistant coach and you will stay an assistant coach.
Mark my Words.
Now thats Quality H20
He did not step over the line. He was 3 meters on to the pitch screaming at his players. He was not asking for a sub, and refused to move when asked by the official. Then as said swore abusively at the official in ear shot of subs from both teams.
He was asked again to move and his response was the same.
Not a nice guy or a good ambassador for your club.

Calm down petal, I said if this happened and only commented on a situation. The Waterboy wrote:Then why is Devils Advocate, Franco UnAmerican, Nice One Cyrill and others saying that the under 11's coach swore at his players??
No Comets coach swears at his players or opposition players
hopefully people can see this now.

Not sure but there does seem to be some conflicting reports so far.
Ugly parents/coaches should be barred from all kids sports in my opinion.
They seem to forget it's about the boys/girls having fun with their mates and not making up
for their lack of success in their youth.

I'm surprised to find Arsene Wenger on this forum. Nothing like blowing your own trumpet.

I think Pudding has stumbled into an Adult conversation. Reading his other posts filled with SMS speak it seems he is about 14. He is perhaps suffering from that age old 14 year old problem of spending too much time locked in the bathroom playing with his own "tool".

im not denying that he is an absolute tool i have refereed both his teams his U/13's last year and his U/12's this year and they have been class sides but he is still a toolThe Waterboy wrote:Well there are 2 coaches for the U11 teams at the Comets, so I don't know which coach you are talking about.
Let me assure you people, that BOTH coaches for the Comets are good people and good coaches.
As for West Adelaide Blues and Rider the under 12 coach has taken his team to the Cup Final, ok he may get angry but he is getting the results and developing the kids.

Re: Under 11 Comets Coach , Massive Tool
These people that coach these junior sides are not "coaches" they are 'dad's' doing it because they have big aspirations for their kids. If a dad is lucky to have 10 or 12 talented players in a junior side of U11 & under then the team will coach itself. It doesn't need an idiot shouting like a mad man from the sidelines.
My method of coaching on match days would be to let the team go out & do what they think is right & then correct them at either half time or full time.
Kids need good communication with a coach not an ego tripping 'tool' thinking he is Jose Mourinho.
Also parents need to take a good look at themselves too, they are the worst culprits. " The vile face of Junior sport"

some "dad" coaches are real coaches , you may start off beign a dad coach however lets face it if you become and learn you are no longer a dad coach but a coach !

errrrnt ! wrong sorry but trying to correct a fault at half time or end is not that good, take for example a player who keeps hackign a player or hand ball - if you dont step on it and have them able to listen to you during the game you can never switch tactics, get players marking up ... no use in saying to a player who is destroying your team at the end ok you should have mark him up ! lol ... i know what your saying some coaches are tools... however there is place and time to say something and time to say nothing - even the proffesional coaches get animated and talk even when they have spent hours with the team.

great to see that there are people out there with enough knowledge of child psychology to understand what is best for a young persons development too many idiot coaches think they've got to scream like it's the end of the world to get kids to do what the "coach" thinks is right bunch of idiots IMOMan City Over 35s wrote:These people that coach these junior sides are not "coaches" they are 'dad's' doing it because they have big aspirations for their kids. thats a big loss for the comets
to loose a coach who won a cup final this year and last year for each team and both teams were regarded as impressive by most other clubs who they played against
the 14s didnt loose a game is the league in the season just finished
i think most clubs would gladly have a tool like this in their toolbox

Its not surprising. After watching him this year there is no way my son would play in his team no matter how many games they won.hudsona wrote:Hear the comets U11/U14 coach got moved on by the club.

Re: Under 11 Comets Coach , Massive Tool
begs the question...does a coach at these age levels have a responsibility to teach the players about being a good sportsperson, a good person as well as a good competative player?
Should he reflect those values in his/her behaviour?
Should a club take a stand and insist that their coaches also live and and show these values in their behaviour....at training and on match day? (and in this instance Comets have...to their credit I think)
Would most clubs even consider these issues with their coaches?
