It is the right of only the captain to ask the ref for clarification about any decision..fact.Topin Wagglegammon wrote:How can I find it if it doesn't exist? As for the old post, I was looking for something else when I cam across it.
Anyone other than the captain including other players, coaches etc challenge the decision they can be yellow carded.

Read page 23 "Captain taking responsibility" of the rules there, and also cont on to page 24

Sly sports also covered it aswell, its step 3 of the Four Steps
3. Captain taking responsibility.
While the captain does not have any special privileges under the Laws of the Game, captains will be expected to take on more responsibility for the conduct of their team. The captain will act as the main contact point for the referee, and will be called over to an incident involving a team-mate even if he/she is some distance away.
then finally check out

Scroll down near the bottom where it says "Captain only to speak to the referee" and read there
NOW, after reading all of that i recommend you sit down, have a coke and a smile and shut da fk up

This allows the referee to talk to the captian, not the other way round.TOOLBOY wrote:While the captain does not have any special privileges under the Laws of the Game, captains will be expected to take on more responsibility for the conduct of their team. Only the Captain can openly ask for clarification of a refereeing decision. - http://www.docstoc.com/docs/4528652/THE ... aign-formsTopin Wagglegammon wrote:This allows the referee to talk to the captian, not the other way round.TOOLBOY wrote:While the captain does not have any special privileges under the Laws of the Game, captains will be expected to take on more responsibility for the conduct of their team. States that the captain can ask the referee about a decision, so both ref and captain can approach eachother 1st either way

The captain of the team has no special status or privileges under the Laws of the Game but he has a degree of responsibility for the behaviour of his team.Topin Wagglegammon wrote:Translation: I accept it's not in LOTG.
Meaning any incident involving a team must be spoken about with the captain and the referee since the captain has the responsibility

Which is the referee talking to him so he doesn't have to say the same thing eleven times.
>so his players dont go chatting to the ref and getting cards
Of going to opposition players or members of the crowd etc and behaviour in general, not exclusively the referee.

It's about their behaviour across the board, nothing to do with the referee.tickets4cheese wrote:isn't that exactly what he said but worded differently??

Re: Respect Rule?
It doesn't mean that and you know it. Al players are responsible for their own actions. It's more of him taking leadership and getting them to calm down if things are heating up and getting out of hand.tickets4cheese wrote:so for example, the captain would be responsible for one of the players on his team throwing in a double footer on someone and breaking there leg?Topin Wagglegammon wrote:It's about their behaviour across the board, nothing to do with the referee.tickets4cheese wrote:isn't that exactly what he said but worded differently??
