Juve: 'Profitable and competitive'
Juve: 'Profitable and competitive' Thursday 6 August, 2009
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Juventus President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli is beaming at news the club has made a profit and reinforced on the transfer market.
“We ended the fiscal year with £5m profit, an 18 per cent increase compared to last season,” said the patron after today’s board meeting.
“Juve have once again become competitive in the economic environment. We are extremely solid.”
In a year when clubs like Milan and Roma are forced to sell their stars to raise funds, it is particularly significant that the Bianconeri are making money.
They reinvested it by signing Diego, Felipe Melo, Martin Caceres and Fabio Cannavaro to build an impressive side.
“The team is stronger than last season and above all we have reinforced significantly in every area of the squad,” continued President Cobolli Gigli.
“In attack we have also rediscovered the motivation and fitness of David Trezeguet, turning us into a truly competitive outfit.
“Are we stronger than Inter? I am not interested in them. We will see on the pitch who is the better team.”
Meanwhile, the Bianconeri must whittle down the squad, with Sergio Almiron heading for Bari and Christian Poulsen reportedly in talks with Fiorentina.
“Almiron to Bari is a possibility, but we will not give Poulsen to Fiorentina. I can confirm we will do everything we can to sell these two players, though.”

I just hope we get rid of Poulsen and Almiron before the window closes. They are becoming pests.
Re: Juve: 'Profitable and competitive'
Milan? Not a chance in my view. It will be between Juve and Inter. Inter still have the better squad, but lack the playmaker. We have a good squad too, but you never know how good or bad Diego will settle in and the center of defence could be a worry at times. Plus, there is Mourinho vs Ferrara; one has done it all, the other has coaced twice in his life. That could be a huge difference at the end of the day.

Milan will surprise the serie a this year, and will finish above Juve!

Unless head to head is equal. In season 2005-2006 "Playoffs" were abolished and if head to head is equal they use goal difference.BAGGIO 15 wrote:Goal difference is not used in Italy.fully sik 9 wrote:Juve to win title on GD over inter. milan to finish about 7th/8th. fiorentina to finish 3rd

'juve to finish top over inter, i can see juve winning one of the fixtures and drawing the other' is what should be there lol.
i look at juves squad and it just seems very balanced out, strong as fuck and the right chemistry is seems.
Re: Juve: 'Profitable and competitive'
Juve and Inter will be the sides to beat this term... and both will be strong contenders for the UCL...
Juve have added what Inter lack, a creative spark in between midfield and attack, who can turn a game on its head with one piece of brilliance...
Inter need a trequartista IMO, something we've lacked for a long time now. Eto'o and Milito are classy attackers, but they're different to Ibra who could go back and get the ball himself consistently and beat half a team to score.

Inter will win easily. Juve will finish second by a mile. The other two UCL places will be fought out by Genoa, Fiorentina, Palermo, and Roma. My beloved Milan will be lucky to crack the top 10

You obviously don't follow Serie A closely.Kitchimo wrote:Inter will win easily. Juve will finish second by a mile. The other two UCL places will be fought out by Genoa, Fiorentina, Palermo, and Roma. My beloved Milan will be lucky to crack the top 10
Palermo are going to sweep all before them this season led by the super uomo ragno, while Javier Pastore is going to be the next Diego Maradona and bring some glory to the poor afri...southerners.
