Sturt Marion V Adelaide City
Postponed

Does anyone know why AC's game is p/poned? With Metro having a catch up game and now City having one...Is the league becoming again like last year when there were still games to play after its end!??

Cumby-Olympic seems the game to watch this week, not much on the plate otherwise.

Might pop down for that one. Why was the Sturt game postponed and when it is likely to be played?
I don't just want to have my cake and eat it, I want to go back for cheesy biscuits and tiramisu.

I think Sturt Marion wanted to postpone the game. They postponed their game last week against Campbelltown as they had about 4 girls in Perth for the School Girls Nationals.

How can this be? Are you sure you have your facts right?

According to the schoolgirls' list posted on ffsa's website Sturt has got only 3 players away, but more importantly other clubs have players away too (Cumby and Toros) and they are not postponing. Why should Sturt be different and be able to postpone? What do the rules say about this?

I'm pretty sure Sturt already postponed last week's game because they had players to the schoolgirls, and so did Toros. How come that Sturt postpone again?

Alisa Sabic Sturt Marion
Georgie Johnson Sturt Marion
Celeste McGregor Western Districts
Robyn McLaughlin Adelaide Olympic
Lexy Eidam MUWFC Magic
Elise Faulkner Western Districts
Daniella Debono Fulham Force
Mieke Hyland Sturt Marion
Zoe Hammond MUWFC Magic
Kate Poole Western Districts
Kate Glen Cumberland United
Katie Wyschnja Cumberland United
Rebecca Sullivan Campbelltown
Lauren Bremner Cumberland United
Jessica Nagel Cumberland United

Sturt did this big time last year and ended up swaying the league title in their favour.

The rules and regulations that get trotted out and waved around, are not worth the paper. They postponed games weeks/months after they were due to be played.

Be consistent and true to the rules of the comp FFSA.

I think the regulations are that you are entitled to postpone if you have 3 or more of the 11 named prems players away... thats why we didnt play our catch up game with metro when the state girls were away...

Well, if it's true that they can postpone due to schoolgirls even if the players are actually available and other clubs can't then...you are right!

Sturt SAWSA United!!! What a joke tho.

But seriously, how can a postponement be accepted by FFSA if they actually have the players?????

BTK, last year Sturt kept delaying the catch up games (obviously because it was convenient for them and not so much for Fulham and City) and SAWSA let them do it ( ) but as far as I remember they had the right to postpone those games...I'm not 100% sure actually, but I don't remember Sturt being granted postponements outside of the rules.

This situation is a bit different instead. If it's true that they got a postponement when their state players are actually in Adelaide I don't know if this is within the rules.

If this is the case, don't they risk a fine or to forfeit the game or something if there's a complaint?

Or with the FFSA can you simply break and bend the rules as much as you want and there's never any consequence?
I thought now that SAWSA is not SAWSA anymore (i.e. they are accountable with the FFSA) certain things could not be done anymore.

Tonight or tomorrow??
Anyway, if they are back tonight or tomorrow things don't change that much, but this whole issue seems really 'smelly'...
It's very sad when clubs/federations/people live up to their 'murky' reputations.
It makes the whole sport look bad.

Could there be a reasonable explanation for Sturt postponing the game? Has anyone asked or is everyone just speculating as usual?
