Question on Referee's?
if a game is played with a parent that is not a "qualified referee" and the game is played should the result stand?
The Div 3 CCSC vs CUMBY game was plpayed at flinders and no ref showed, cumby had no match balls, no ground steward and a spectator from the ccsc refereed the game ccsc lost 0-2, but they didnt want to play the game? should the game be replayed??

Re: Question on Referee's?
bad weekend for refs. Div 5 MU Lions vs Inter, ref showed, took the team sheets, then disapeared, never to be seen again . Spectators refed the game, one half an Inter spectator, on half a MU spectator.

Re: Question on Referee's?
It's getting ridiculous everyone makes the effort to get to games and having "parents" have to referee games is not fair for anybody, who is in charge at the ffsa?? every division is important wether it be prems or div 5, parents should not have to referee the games, I am submitting a complaint to the ffsa. Also I was at the ccsc vs cumby game was a good game except the poor ref was in sunnies and jeans trying his best, and ccsc provided a ground steward, match balls, even though it was not their home game.
Re: Question on Referee's?
The Referee for the Metro and Fulham Div 2 game, didnt show up either today.
Thanks to Neits and Tez who did a half each.

Re: Question on Referee's?
i know a team in div three who didnt provide a linesman on two occasions. Both times my team assisted until they had spare players and spectators turn up in which at half time we gave them the flag back i know it is hard to get help we all have that problem however this club has not provided one all year.

Re: Question on Referee's?
HI
I can see both sides, there was no ref at my teams game (Para Hills v Flinders Uni) but the guy who filled in did a good job. On the other hand as a ref I know how hard it is for the coordinator to find refs and priority has to be to the higher level games. The answer, more players doing the ref course and helping the game, if you love football and play Sunday, why not ref on Saturdays and visa versa, or do you just want to play and let others worry about putting up the nets, washing strips, ref games etc, ask yourself that. Even if you are only a teenager you can still ref junior games and earn a bit of extra money and help solve this problem rather than complaining about it.

Re: Question on Referee's?
From the competition rules;
Attendance of a Referee and Procedure When There Is No Official Referee
FFSA will notify clubs by Friday prior to the Sunday game via e-mail when a referee is not available.
If a referee has been appointed and is not present at the game, please notify FFSA as soon as possible that a referee has not attended.
If an official referee does not attend on the day, the teams should undertake the following procedure:
a) If possible the home team will nominate a person who is suitably qualified to undertake the game.
Or
b) Both teams provide one person to each undertake one half of the game.
Or
c) One person from either team referees the whole game – this must be agreed upon by both teams.
Role of a Club Referee
1. The appointed referee must ensure that both teams have completed a team sheet. The referee should have received these prior to the commencement of the game.
2. The club referee must keep a record of all of the goalscorers, substitutes and cautions or send
offs.
3. The club referee who undertakes the game has the same decision making capacity as an officially
appointed referee. This means that they can enforce cautions, send-offs and submit any reports regarding team and/or spectator behaviour.
4. On completion of the game, the club referee must complete the team sheets by including any
injuries that have occurred and also nominate the 3 best players from the game. These sheets must then be provided to an official of the home team.
The home team is responsible for sending all team sheets to FFSA within 48 hours of the game being played.
The home team is obliged to pay the Referee Match Fee to any referee that undertakes a game.
5. If any club has any genuine grievance or complaints following a game whereby there has been no
official referee, the following procedure should occur:
a) A written report outlining the grievance/complaint must be submitted into FFSA within 48 hours of the game concluding.
b) On receipt of this letter, the FFSA Competition Personel will evaluate the situation and if necessary forward it on to the FFSA Disciplinary Committee.
c) Once a decision has been made on the matter, the clubs involved will be notified via e-mail, within 7 days where practical.

Actually if you read the competition rules i just posted, if you have someone act as a Club Referee and officiate the game in the case of no referee appointed or showing up, the home club is required to pay the referees fee to that person.
