hahaha!! I love this post!

But yeah, you can't really compare different games and then Fulham are very good now.

And Metro were tired while Fulham didn't play...I heard that also Olympic didn't play in the cup, is that true??

gubs said city played a game on thursday night...
so really, what's the difference?
gubs was pointing out that city were able to play a game thursday night, come play against olymipc, who are having a good year, play out the game and then in the last few minutes have the stamina to still score and beat them.
hence being 'miles ahead of the rest' since metro are second and yes, played a game in the week, but didn't manage to beat out the team who are sixth.

but yeah, while there's a point there, it's hard to really fairly compare two different games.

Should we also take into account the number of players each team has partaking in united sessions which at the moment Is pre-season mind you.. So fulham have two.. City have three.. Metro have 6 who all started and played full games... Actually fulham hv 3 if u include Mj but like I said full games

who cares geez at the end of the day - neither team scored regardless of who played throughout the week.
metro missed chances and so did fulham..

at the end of the day - if no1 scores, then both have excuses!!!

Agreed Shorty.

If teher's a 5-1 blow out then people will ask "what happened. How bad is the comp, blah blah blah". When its 0-0 there's the question of which players were missing, what games were played, etc.

The result was a fair outcome.

From my observations, I believe Fulham is a better team than Olympic (at this very point in time) and hence, Metro had two tough games in the space of 4 days.

We are still carrying injured players might i add. we are not at full strength, altho we have come a long way since we have had a few players come back.

not cocky at all leps, just proud of what we did yesterday

All I was saying was that having a mid week game should have no impact on how team plays at the weekend. Metro would have had a very light session on tuesday to prepare for thurs and sunday which would just about be the same as having 2 intense training sessions before a sunday game. Its how u mentally prepare to play against a team u have already beaten twice in the season that was the difference.

Its a players choice whether they train with United or not. If they choose to then they should be well informed on how to prepare themselves for trainings and games...add to that they should be generally fitter and able to run games out....maybe not

 Good to see the same ol comments being espoused here......the same ol people making the same ol bland, boring, excuses for games won or not won.....no credit given where credit due bcoz if credit given it means they may actually give praise, where praise due..the "tall poppy syndrome" is alive and well on SA Womens Soccer forum"......Good effort to all at Fulham....the result is an indication that things may have turned the corner...it is hard to be competitive when the TEAM suffers so many injuries to KEY PLAYERS!!! Good luck with the rest of the season.....I'm sure that you will give the top teams a run for their money in the games to come.

PS: It doesnt matter what team you play for or what sport you play.....its up to the team and individual to prepare themselves for every situation that they may face ..mid week games or not.....I'm sure FULHAM have in the past fronted up for games on a Sunday after playing Cup games on a Friday night.. and conducted themselves with upmost integrity to the club and themselves....so in finishing.....give credit where credit due......Oh I forgot is METRO doing the whinning.....again....get over yourselves.... :?
