Basile Wants Argentine Pair To Quit West Ham

Argentina national team coach Alfio Basile thinks Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano must leave West Ham to save their careers.

The Argentine World Cup pair stunned the football world when they arrived in East London from Brazilian club Corinthians on transfer deadline day in August.

But they have both struggled to find form since they joined the Hammers - and the club have failed to win since their exotic imports arrived.

Now Basile is worried that his two Albiceleste stars' indifferent form for the Hammers will also affect their international performances.

"I hope both of them leave that club as soon as possible," Basile told TyC Sports.

"I think they are half-hearted and I'm really worried about that. They play as if they are unenthusiastic.

"I hope for God's sake that Mascherano can go to Juventus as it has been said, even if he has to play in the second division (in Italy).

"And Tevez can play in any position in the attacking line, but not as a left-winger like he is currently playing."

Basile also said was "surprised" that Juan Roman Riquelme had decided to retire from international football at the age of only 28, for family reasons.

"I can talk to him to ask him to return, but his mother is more valuable to him," Basile said, before adding that there are "very good players" to replace Riquelme - including Borussia Monchengladbach's Federico Insua and Real Zaragoza's Pablo Aimar.

I agree with Basile, they both must leave west ham and also england. They play more of an attacking football and the place for tevez is spain or even back to corinthians. mascherano to juve would be good for him as well.

The situation West Ham are in , reminds me of Middlesbrough when we had the cheek to sign players like Ravanelli, Emerson and Juninho. Certain members of the Press/media don't like the thought of so called unfassionable or smaller teams signing top players. The press go out of their way to stir the **** and make up and exaggerate comments.West Ham had better get used to this Jealosy quickly and ignore this **** stirring.Everytime there was break for International games the Papers would be full of stories from Ravanelli or Emerson wanting to leave. It is very unsettling but I hope West Ham come through this OK and shut these trouble causing w*nkers up

They all left West Ham because they became too good for the club.

Who are the current West Ham players in the England squad?
