Lumberjack -- I assume you mean City v. Cumby 1-2 ???
Pretty awesome display by the Cumby team, and the Cumby goalie in particular !!!
Very good effort and game by the young cumberland premiers squad. Heard that the squad had 4 x 15 year old players in the team. Who says women's soccer has no future after the display of that young squad yesterday.
In the second game I saw City play structured, organised and methodical football. Their multiple, near miss shots on goal were all from well orchestrated build ups.
Cumby scored twice, no doubt about it!
Cumby didn't score through good link ups or good individuals carrying the ball and defeating opponents so not much to write home there about.
Two uncharacteristic ball handling errors by City’s last line defenders fell to a handy placed forward who turned and shot. To Cumby credit they scored direct from Citry errors.
Heaps of the game Cumby had ten of their players in their own defensive half or behind the ball leaving a very very lonely striker up front.
It wasn’t that pretty.
A win is a win though.
do we expect 15 to 18 year old players playing like professionals. I do not think so. AC had a much more experienced and older squad which could not overcome a young developing cumby squad. Credit to cumby to be defensive and still winning.
It was just an observation.
Didn't mean to hit a nerve.
Is that the Cumby playing strategy?
10 players in defensive half and behind ball....
I like these faces!

well, if it is a strategy, can you fault it?
they came away with the win, which in the end is all that counts, regardless of how many near miss shots city had - key word being miss.
and they are the only team to beat adelaide city so far this season...
for a young team, they've got talent.
some players to watch out for i think!
give a team a break!

Wonder if Cumby now can repeat themselves with Metro and others or if that was just a good night?
One victory is good but now they need to look for some consistency IMO, otherwise it remains one drop in the ocean...When they play Metro it will be interesting to see what happens. Last time they played Metro crash them quite easily. Maybe now the young team is coming together?
yes. keeping a scoreless second half isnt a bad effort.
just werent prepared going into the game.
guess we'll find out on the 14th August when they play the catch up game at SAWSA.
I think that at this stage, cumby are more focused on the cup game on wednesday night...

Yeah if it didnt get used as much as it does during the week and then all day saturdays it might be in decent nick. Playing games at a pitch in paradise
