Para 15's and 16's both are top of their tables at present, wouldn't have thought too many would be coming across from Modbury next season.
Exactly.
Why would he?
From what I hear lately, staying at Modbury would be a better option than going to Para Hills.

My lads at Modbury jets and I must say, sod all support / info for juniors.
He was put forward for state id trials....but no info was forthcoming and we found out where and when they were purely by accident (4 hours before they started).
Just hearing negative comments recently from parents that have children there.[/quote]
no negatives with the 15s and 16s. both well coached with good support. socialize well after training and games, both top of the table.theres easily enough talent to fill the 17s and 16s as most 17s can go again. the boys that have this year moved over from modbury are playing really well and enjoying their new surrounds. am surprised there are negatives or are there?? explain??

The club nominates the players to the FFSA ever thought the supplier of this type of information the FFSA did not advice the club because I can assure you ALL INFORMATION relevant to the juniors is sent to managers and coaches.
Would be interesting to hear what support your not getting from the club ?
This could turn into bitching, which I really dont want. Not here to bad mouth any club.
Just a general feeling being new to Modbury from a close knit group at E&D club, there just seems to be a "they're only juniors" vibe around the place. Maybe it improves when you get up to 15's etc, don't know.

Might relate to game time. Usually the issue with parents - no different at any club. Although the main aim should be to develop all players in a team rather than trying to win every game at all costs (i.e. some kids sit on the bench all game) the prestige for coaches whose team finishes top and the relegation battle for teams near the bottom make this aim impossible.
no, as some times best 11 is required once you get to last few rounds of cup but how much did boys that may have missed out on game time in cup game play 2 days later? . its called balancing a squad!!!

Ummm so it is no diffrent just a case of balance now I understand
season is 18 games with no straight subs , rotatation, so a strong squad of 15 required with players getting equal or near, that is balancing...
cup is one bite of the cherry, in the early rounds i would imagine most strong sides would rotate against easier opposition but the further you go the harder the games the stronger the side required. i'm sure you would understand that theone being a coach. footballers need to be able to take these in as they get older.
Agree that with cup games the coach should be able to pick his best side. As a parent thats not easy to accept if your son is on the sidelines but its fair enough. When it happens in the normal season thats when i've got a problem. As a coach if you don't think a player is good enough to get reasonable game time during the regular season then don't take them - don't waste the players time, don't waste the parents time, it will save alot of agro. Players aren't there just to satisfy coaches egos and provide income to the clubs.
At the end of the day players love the game and just want to play the game. Awaiting direction from the FFSA to impose that all players should get at least half a game (normal season) as happens in the Youth League.
DEVELOPMENT, DEVELOPMENT and then there's DEVELOPMENT

Great comment love this
Agree at junior level
I feel John Mac has turned over some 50 of players and that is not development that is trying to run a state side
Totaly different concept of what junior football is about
J J
turned over 50 odd boys!
Does this mean the players have started in the team and been asked to leave?
Does it mean 50 odd players have trialled?
Over how many seasons?

Ask John how many Amateur clubs he has played at... he is nowhere through and through!
Let me have a guess...Newton one of them?
By the way I have been doing some maths...I played with your reserves super striker Rocky 20 + years ago, he is older than me, I retired from playing 10+ years ago, and he is still playing
How does he do it, has he lied on his birth certificate? Do you really know how old he is?, and remember people shrink with age...in 5 years time he will be 3 ft tall
Some people tell me that we professional players are soccer slaves. Well, if this is slavery, give me a life sentence. Bobby Charlton

WTF !! who cares....
I heard a rumour John is going to coach netball or maybe Tennis what about cricket !!!
When will people learn that it isnt about winning leagues or cups at junior level, its about development of the squad you have. Not relying on a couple of the better players to win you games. There is far too much importance on junior results. Develop the lads so they benefit the Club at senior level.
