Grove season over! Easties on the UP!

Post by FRQ »

Having watched the grove play against us on Sunday, i believe that without Brad Docherty they will be playing against easties again next season. they are just not strong enough and unusually soft for a Grove team.

We are struggling at the moment and should have won the game easily but missed some glaring chances. The Boys have got the spirit back and good run to the end will see us push up the table.

Cmon on Boys.

What happened to Brad? I believe he hurt himself while tackling me in the box but not sure what he actually did. It definitely hurt the Grove to lose him so early on in the game. Why wasn't Foster playing?

Big call to say that they will definitely not get promoted. I expect them to keep pushing Vikings and Beach.

SEASON OVER hahaha still 6 games to go you guys are 1 point off bottom sounds like your definately on the up. If it wasnt for the dirty little fat saggs layin studs up tackles, grabbin privates and then clearing the ball off the line in last minute you would have lost. Grove had both there top goalscorers out eg dochs injury first 10 mins foster with the flu i believe.
agree you probably deserved the win on the day but come the end of the season if some of those bottom dwellers with you win a couple of games your 1 point draws may see you in Div 3 next year my friend!

Love it how people have to come on here and slag people off.
You guys have the players to continue the push for promotion, but you certainly lacked something going forward.
Well we are ever so slowly on the up. we've climed 2 places in the past 2 weeks. :D

Comical topic and first post you clown. And yes i’m aware my post count is rather low, I generally prefer to observe than comment, but with nonsensical pot stirring like this I cant help but pass judgement.

Yes the Groves display on the weekend was very poor, and probably the worst show they’ve put on all season. But what do you expect when up against such mediocre opposition??? The league is still almost anyone’s. I wish the east boys luck, particularly you FRQ in your strive for maturity.

Hello rockerville.
This first post from someone was probably to stir you guys up. Its certainly brought about a few responses and probably done what the poster wanted to acheive, a reaction. You guys are still well in the mix, so i wouldnt be getting your knickers in a twist just yet.
As for mediocre opposition, i dont think so mate. We played well IMO and have done for the past 3 odd weeks.
Good Luck to the grove for their promotion push and maybe dont let this stuff cloud your view of promotion.

I would have thought that any team who have ambitions to get promoted would be confident of beating mediocre opposition. Sounds like a bit of sour grapes to me :!:

I dont know why i am being called a clown i watched the game on sunday my daughter plays for the club and i was passing on my views. This is my first post and probably the last if this is the way i will be treated i provided an honest assesment. I have seen brad docherty play since my boy played against him as kid and he is a good player and i believe after watching the grove only once that they will stuggle. i meant no personal insult and i wish the grove the best for the season as i would rather a northern club get promoted than any southerners.

you must admit that the title of the topic makes u look like a clown. grove season over! only 3 pts of promotion with 5 games left, pretty sure there season aint over. east on the up! they havent won since rd 6 including a loss to a sat div 3 side in the cup, does not seem very uppish to me. but dont stop posting, the more on this forum the merrier. but on this occasion you look like a :clown: :D

How you can suggest the groves season is over from watching them once is beyond me. On top of this suggesting that docs carries the team, when you seen him play what? all of 1min 23secs on the weekend before he went down.... wouldnt say you're the most credible of sources on how much impact he has. Yes he is a quality individual, but more importantly is an integral part of the TEAM. Im not trying to inflict any personal insult upon you FRQ, i just think its a rather bold prediction for someone whos watched one grove fixture.

Hmmm, maybe you're onto something there FRQ, a heavy defeat for the Grove at the hands of Vista this week and all of a sudden things don't seem to be looking too promising at pecker park.

Too be honest their position on the table is not a true reflection of the team, should be lower than they are but this may happen in the coming weeks...

After today's performance, and also the last 2 games against PHE and Vista, our season is probably over, at the moment we are playing soft with no heart, also our B's get beat most weeks, which is not good for the players that are pushing for A grade spots. As a club we know we are good enough to be promoted, it probably showed today, we gave most of the goals away with poor defensive errors and in this division it will cost you. I don't believe Vikings are the best side in Div 2, I reckon west Beach are, but as we know division 2 is the toughest league. So lets hope we can finish the year off with a couple of wins, and finish 3rd and not drop down the table.

Mate that is a big call and one i thought would never be associated with the grove.

the boys just need to fire up and gel as a team again, maybe we send them next door to the boxing club to harden up.

also i heard a couple of the boys made the final of the pecker cup maybe running 4 miles on friday night then playing on sunday was too hard.

i think three of the boys are still waiting for their balls to drop again.
