Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
I am sure we have all had a "Elizabeth Vale" encounter and its good that this has now made it to the papers.
They have never been handled well and have continued to play a disgraceful brand of football supported by equally disgraceful supporters.
Enough said

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
Im sure we all do have a Vale story... but that doesnt mean that ALL their players, and ALL their spectators can be branded as disgraceful.
I remember playing against them in U17s i think it was, a few years back now, and there was always one player who had a bit of a temper, i pushed her off the ball, she got a free, and she still felt the need to push me as i was walking away. BUT because of this one player, i never thought any less of elizabeth vale. That, and the coach showed his disappointment in this players reaction by pulling her off the pitch for the remainder of the game.
They generally struggled for players, and more or less always put in a good game. I am aware that over the few years its been since i've played them that the standard of play, and sportsmanship may have deteriorated...
I personally dont think that this warranted an article in the paper, but thats just me. As i said, i dont know what they're like now, i havent played against them for several years, i just dont think we should condemn all vale players to being 'disgraceful'.

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
quite right... i didnt even think about it, just went on from billys post about 'vale'.
but still.
same applies, that i think its unfair branding ALL players and ALL spectators as disgraceful.

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
Yes I agree it is definetly not all players and all supporters. Unfortunately i think the Downs have had a bit of a reputation in general over the years, which is shown in the other post (by people writing they are not surprised it is the downs in question) but i think a lot of people dislike the downs purely on jealousy because they have such a big club with so many supporters.

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
The question to ask is this: Would the competition be better off with or without them? Run a poll amongst civilised teams and I'll be interested to see the results. The compeition is nothing without the clubs and teams. Sometime you need to prune those bits that you could do without.
This is not the advertising or Image I want my game to have.

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
oh yeah cuz that would work...
you could cut the team, it just means the players would find another club to play at and then you'd have to cut other clubs because they have 'disgraceful' players in the teams, and the 'disgraceful spectators' would still be going out to games.
try thinking about it.
and sad gal, is that really the smartest thing you've got to say?
whose trying to defend thugs? we're merely saying that it couldnt possibly be every single player and every single spectator. we're defending the innocent players and spectators. you know, the ones that havent done anything to warrant this kind of attention at or against their club.

.........and how do you - oh wise one - determine who are the "civilised teams"? Does that mean clubs without clowns like you who make potentially incendiary comments from behind a keyboard?
Smarten up mate and use your loaf before you post stupid comments.

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
Well we can all see how intelligent Billy The Kid is, he cant even get the team right that made the paper. LMAO
Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
HAHA the vale dont even have a girls team any more! pretty sure they were one of the better teams once upon a time in the prem league.
Every team has there bad players as we dicovered last week! Cumby vs Fulham!

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
really didnt need to become public, just more bad publicity for our game. there are worse teams out there than the downs. would like to hear about the game itself to be honest

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
the game was gr8 for the downs it was 0/0 thay had 90% of the game but cld not score
Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
posession wise, agree wit hyou Downs had more of the ball, but Uni had a lot of chances on the break that weren't capitalised on, can think of 3-4 chances that should have been buried by uni, but instead were missed (one blasted over, others scuffed to the keeper). Was an entertaining game to watch.white hart lane boy wrote:the game was gr8 for the downs it was 0/0 thay had 90% of the game but cld not score

yes gr8 game by both teams glad of that both coachs had hard work to keep the girls mind of the tv & press well done to them .
Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
if we are getting rid of teams there are plenty of teams that are 'civilised' that id like to not play ..

Re: Everyone Has a"Vale" Story
well, yes, all teams do have their bad players, but i dont think that one bad tackle... very bad tackle, even comes close to the kind of happenings they seem to be going on about.Aero wrote:HAHA the vale dont even have a girls team any more! pretty sure they were one of the better teams once upon a time in the prem league.

I don't have a Vale story.
I don't just want to have my cake and eat it, I want to go back for cheesy biscuits and tiramisu.
