First Team
Ingle Farm 1 - 0 Stirling

Farm never really got going today and was after half time they got the winning goal from a Chris Ennis header. Stirling were never really in the game and an average team, Farm just didnt punish them.

Reserves
Ingle Farm 1 - 0 Adelaide Villa

An absolute screamer half way through first half was enough to get Farm the win! One of the best strikes I've seen in a long time. Farm should take out the reserves cup again this year after eliminating there closest competition today.

Adelaide Vikings (Sun Div 2) 9 v Stirling (Sat Div 1) 3

Vikings playing with a 5 goal breeze went ahead early, before we had a player sent off (straight red) in the 20 th minute, we didnt realise we were playing saturday rules  . 5-1 up at half time, game over. Stirling going with the breeze scored from a penalty and a one on one to make it 5-3, from then on it was party time.

I think Stirling must have been missing players, I thought I spotted some guys that played Bs last year playing As against Farm. But wow, great result for Vikings.

Ingle Farm v Stirling 1-0

Stirling were on top early but Farm soon took control. No real chances for either team were created, to be honest I thought the match was pretty flat. Farm always on top without being pushed. The Ingle farm sweeper scored from a corner 5 or 6 minutes into the second half and they comfortably held on. He had a chance to make it 2-0 from another corner with about 5 minutes left, but the keeper made a good reflex save with his foot.

Ingle Farm v Adelaide Villa 1-0

Some crunching tackles! That's what I came to see. To be honest I enjoyed this game more. Villa wanted it, but couldn't break through. Cracking goal to win the game.

Hamburger review (for Jay Walking  ):

It compares to the Wolf Burger, the lettuce and the tomato are a nice touch. Our steaks are a bit bigger and eggs aren't rolled over. Definitely filled me up. I was very tempted for a yiros, but I was still tasting it from 3am last night.

I was impressed with the facilities (ie club rooms), I imagine all Sunday Div 1 clubs have a similar setup? Where do you guys train? If you train there then that pitch must take a shellacking.

Fulham 1 - St Peters 2

Tough game as expected but 1 that slipped away from us that perhaps shouldn't have.

All the best to St Peters - a good bunch of blokes and well done for coming in for a drink after the game.

We wanted it more though.
a great game for us to win.
We had 3 players take fitness tests before the game and had a lad play who has been in bed with flu since wednesday
so to win today against (lets be honest) a great Villa line up was awesome.

Villa definately had the better chances in the 2nd half and we had 3 chances in the 1st half
but didn't put them away but as you said, what a goal to win it with :D
The young boys said unto him....."go up baldhead, go up"......so he did, rose like a salmon and nodded the ball into the net......1 nil! :-)

Awesome result for Carra23 and his Reserves lads today.. I counted three C Teamers out there, so very good result considering. Great winning goal by Paul Francken, 30 yards out.. top corner, superb. Villa far better in the second half but Farm's defence did well - special mention to Farm keeper Michael Francken who also had a good game.

The Farm 1st team did what they had to do to get the result. Never really got out of second gear, bit of a flat game as mentioned..

But at the end of the day, both teams thru to the quarter finals, well done to all.

A few questions answered this weekend with the Sat vs Sun debate

Southern Knights 7 - Sturt Marion 0
Sturt were a bit disappointing today in my opinion. They had a great cup run last year with a quality team. Today we ran all over them. I did here from one of their own players that they had a couple of strikers that did not want to play on Sunday so they didnt turn up to the game. We went 4-0 up in the first half and at no stage looked like stopping. For once us knights put away 90% of our chances and didnt leave any chance open. Quality game by the knights and hope our run continues facing some good sides.
Thanks to Sturt for coming in for a beer after the game and best of luck for the second leg of your season.. :D

reserves Cup

Elizabeth Vale 4 - 1 Sturt Marion

(May've been 5-1 )

Missed the first 30mins but from what I saw the Vale boys played really well. Passing was brilliant and the defence was strong. Vale had a man sent off midway through the 2nd half but still managed to put one in the back of the net after that. Sturt Marion never really looked like the found there feet... Great win for the boys!!!

Based on what I've been told, my prediction is: Para Hills West (double digits) : Beograd (zero)
Well I look real stupid now...

PHW 0 : Beograd 2

Match summary: PHW made a mistake in the 10th minute, we scored. PHW made another mistake in the 15th minute, we scored again. Then we defended.

PHW apparently had 4 regulars out. We had 7 out due to injuries/sickness/suspensions/work! MASSIVE defensive effort by the boys that played today!
man dont sell the boys short....even if PHW had 4 guys out they are still div 1 but with all due respect never lloked like scoring and were absolute rubbish....if their position in div 1 is based on the 4 playeres not playing then they in big trouble from what i saw today.... beograd had half if not more players out and showed some serious heart and character to get over the line even though as you say they defended for most of the second half..... we ( the serbian contingent from MU Lions) thouroughly enjoyed ourselves and i believe the Brama boys did also.... we see you next sat night for the gentlemans night...make sure that disabled car park and seating is ready for me  top effort lads 8)

i agree... PHW were A LOT fitter than the boys we had on the pitch but that was about it.
it was like watching 11 long distance runners playing soccer - they ran and pushed all day but extremely unspectacular in terms of technical ability. :? i felt like they either tried to walk the ball into the goal, or they kicked it long and ran after it.
defensively, they didn't cope well with diagonal play/crosses at all - seemed to open their defence right up. both goals came after defensive mistakes from 'diagonal' passes by our midfielders to the forwards.
by the way, not a single yellow card shown today.

yup game was played in great spirits and without the butcher tactics of some teams ive seen play....and yes when you play square at the back you are always prone to being caught out unless you have very disciplined defenders who know how to push for offside and keep a straight line....that obviously didnt happen today for PHW and they paid the penalty..... mind you two well taken goals :D

that's all they have been for the last two years, fitness will only take you so far in the amateurs you need to know how to play as well.

A very surprising blow out result for Southern Knights who were a little worried as they were missing Scott & Chris Bradley (in Qld watching their beloved Celtic) and Steve Vickerman through work commitments.
The recent signing of Steve Maguire from Noarlunga enabled Sandy Neary to move forward and Tom Jolly made the most of his recall.
On their form today Knights would have tested most SAASL teams.
Plenty of Panthers supporters on hand to watch their resident amateur cousins.
Goals from Matt Daughtry (2), Ben Jones, Tony Micallef, Sandy Neary, David Mooney and Matty Harrison.
The Sturt player sent of when the score was 5-0 was a bit unfortunate.
Will have to check the stats to see if this is the furthest Southern Knights have progressed in the Cup ?

Table tennis
"Sounds good" table tennis table usually not to far from the bar, the South Adelaide/Knights complex used to have a table set up and was often used on a challange table type set up friday Knights.
Every now and then I used to give someone else a go
